Any USC athlete can participate in the University Championships of Spain (CEU), the Galician University Championships (CGU) and the USC University Championships.
However, the USC does not participate in European University Championships/Games or similar competitions that are not covered by an official call to be part of the state selection.
University Championships of Spain (CEU)
Registration
All those people who are enrolled in the current course and who can prove to be undergraduate, master’s or doctoral students, of titles that have official character and validity throughout the national territory, and who also comply with the following requirements can participate:
- comply with the criteria of the general regulation and the corresponding technical regulations of the CEU, especially, in this last case, those referring to issues such as current federative license, minimum marks in athletics and swimming, degrees in combat modalities, points in tennis or chess, etc.;
- comply with the USC selection criteria for each modality;
- communicate to the USC Sports Area their intention to participate
DAN Athletes
They have the obligation to be part of the USC selections and, if not, they must present a written justification that will be evaluated by the USC Sports Area. If they do not present a justification, before the registration deadline of the corresponding CEU, an ex officio request will be formulated for the revocation of their recognition as USC DAN or part of the benefits that accompany that recognition.
Procedure
- Pre-registration, for which it is necessary;
- to register in the USC Sports Area application (if not previously done);
- to formalize the application to be able to be called, indicating the sports merits, before the deadline stipulated
- in the call ends the calls for team sports and sailing will be published after their respective Galician University Championships (CGU);
- Analysis of applications, by the USC Sports Area, based on the established general criteria.
- Attendance at the calls made by the USC Sports Area for the purposes of training, meetings, competitions, trips, etc.
- Selection, taking into account the number of applications for each modality, the sports merits and the form of the applicants (according to the modalities), the number of applicants who meet the general and specific criteria by modality, the place of celebration of the championships, the necessary logistics…, the USC Sports Area will determine which athletes will represent the USC.
General criteria to be able to opt to be selected in individual sports
- To be in possession of the corresponding federative license for the current season.
- European Championships/World Championships/Olympic Games/Paralympic Games/Universiades and other similar competitions: participation.
- CEU: 8 first in the previous CEU.
- State Federated Championships (CEF): to be among the first 8 absolute or among the first 3 in the rest of the categories, in the last edition held.
- Autonomous Federated Championships (CAF): to be among the first 3 absolute or 1st/1st in the previous category, in the last edition held.
- Other outstanding results that the USC may value, taking into account the specificity of each modality/specialty/ test.
The condition of the last edition held will not be taken into account when it could not participate for justified reasons (injuries, pregnancy…) or when a state of form is accredited that allows to opt to be among the first 8.

Specific criteria to be able to opt to be selected in individual sports
- if their application is necessary, these will be published in the pre-registration call itself.
General criterion to be able to opt to be selected in team sports and sailing
Athletes with a federated license must be in possession of the proper authorization from the clubs of origin.
- to proclaim themselves Galician university champions in the current academic year, unless:
- a team cannot finally be completed;
- for budgetary reasons it is necessary to limit the number of teams that will represent the USC in the CEU. In this last case, the overall sports level of the athletes to be selected in the different sports modalities (current category or the last one in which they competed when they could not participate for justified reasons (injuries, pregnancy, studies…);
If a team is not initially completed with the selected ones in the CGU, it will be possible to resort to the athletes discarded in the selection process of the CGU itself, as long as the overall sports level of the team maintains its competitive level;
Athletes with a federated license must be in possession of the proper authorization from the clubs of origin.

Galician University Championships (CGU)
The USC will participate in the following modalities, both in the female and male category:
- Basketball, Handball, Football, Futsal, Swimming, Orienteering, Rugby-7, Sailing and Volleyball.
Registration
The entire university community of the USC can participate.
Procedure
- Pre-registration, for which it is necessary
- to register in the USC Sports Area application (if not previously done);
- to formalize the application to be called, before the deadline stipulated in the call ends.
- Analysis of applications by the USC Sports Area.
- Attendance at the calls made by the USC Sports Area for the purposes of training, meetings…
- Selection: the USC Sports Area will determine which athletes will represent the USC.
Credits

USC University Championships
The USC Sports Area will publish, if necessary, the list of modalities that it will finally organize.
Registration
The entire university community, athletes linked with the USC and invited athletes can participate.
To register, it is necessary:
- to register in the USC Sports Area application (if not previously done);
- to formalize the registration.
