ICARUS is aimed at the entire university community of the campuses of Santiago de Compostela and Lugo and includes all areas of knowledge taught at the University of Santiago de Compostela:
- Arts and Humanities
- Experimental Sciences
- Health Sciences
- Social and Legal Sciences
- Engineering and Architecture.
The USC awards more than €20,000 to the end of degree, master's degree and doctoral theses projects, with the cheapest social application, through the ICARUS programme.
Any student wishing to apply for the ICARUS programme must meet the following requirements:
- To defend the end of degree, master's degree and doctoral theses projects at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
- The end of degree, master's degree and doctoral theses projects must be written in Galician, Spanish or English, or any other language accepted by the USC for this type of academic work.
- The defence of the end of degree, master's degree and doctoral theses projects must have been carried out in the last 2 academic years (provided that it was completed before 28/04/2024).
- Only those works with a pass mark will be valid.
- Those works awarded in other editions of this programme will not be eligible to participate, nor those presented in other editions of other programmes managed by Valuation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area.

Phases
Phase 0: Enrolment
The enrolment period will remain open between 02/04/2024 and 28/04/2024. At the end of this period, the Valuation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area technicians will check that all the documents comply with all the requirements.
Enrolment will be made through this form.
Phase 1: Assessment
The assessment committee will assess the works according to the criteria described above. The finalists will be published on the Valuation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area website within 15 days.
Phase 2: Training
Those projects that are finalists will access the training phase, where they will share content related to:
- Presentation of the project to the jury
- Business model
Phase 3: Presentation of the end of degree, master's degree and PhD theses projects
The presentation of the end of degree, master's degree and PhD theses projects is a meeting in which the finalists of the ICARUS programme will defend their presentations before the jury for the programme.
The presentation of the finalist end of degree, master's degree and PhD theses projects will take place between May and June 2024. The final date and format chosen for the presentations will be sent directly to the finalists.
The organisation of the ICARUS programme will inform the finalists of the characteristics of the defence of the end of degree, master's degree and PhD theses projects and will give them the possibility to participate in a training day in which they will be advised on how to carry out the presentations.
Phase 4: Award ceremony
The final event will take place at the end of May 2024 and finalists will be duly informed so that they can attend in person.
