Summary
INTRODUCTION: Communication is essential in daily life and in the workplace, especially in nursing, where it influences both the interaction with the patient and teamwork. Effective communication improves the work environment and the quality of care, while its absence can generate conflicts, stress, and contribute to Burnout syndrome. OBJECTIVES: The general objective of this work is to analyze how relationships and communication among healthcare professionals influence the quality of care and adherence to treatment. The specific objectives include assessing the quality of interprofessional communication, identifying factors that facilitate or hinder this communication, and proposing strategies to improve coordination and teamwork, with the aim of optimizing healthcare delivery. METHODOLOGY: This study combines a mixed methodological design: on one hand, a literature review was conducted on interprofessional communication, burnout syndrome, and leadership in the healthcare setting; on the other hand, a quantitative investigation was carried out through a survey of healthcare professionals. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The survey results reflect a generally positive perception of interprofessional communication, but also highlight limitations such as lack of time, training, and coordination among professionals and units. Additionally, the need to involve the patient more and strengthen the safety culture through effective communication is identified. The discussion confirms these shortcomings when compared with the literature, emphasizing the importance of improving communication skills and teamwork to ensure safe and quality care. CONCLUSION: This work demonstrates that communication among healthcare professionals directly influences the quality of care. Although good relationships exist within teams, barriers such as hierarchies and lack of training persist. Improving communication promotes coordination, reduces errors, and humanizes care. Strategies such as active listening, respect, and more collaborative leadership are proposed.

Summary
The main focus of this work is the analysis of sexual education programs implemented in Spain over the past few years. The primary aim is to provide a critical and comprehensive overview of the evolution, scope, and effectiveness of these initiatives, both in educational and healthcare settings, assessing their impact on youth development. To achieve this, the first section presents a literature review that defines the concept of sexual health from a holistic perspective, addressing not only biological aspects but also psychological, social, and cultural dimensions. This review also includes an analysis of current legislation related to sexual education, a historical overview of how this education has evolved within the Spanish educational system, and an exploration of the theoretical models and programs applied in recent decades. Secondly, the study includes an empirical component divided into two complementary approaches. On one hand, a quantitative study has been conducted through a survey distributed to young people of different ages and educational backgrounds. This survey aims to gather information about their knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions regarding sexual health, as well as their evaluation of the role that educational and healthcare institutions play in providing this education. On the other hand, a qualitative study has been carried out through an interview with Psychology professor Javier Gómez Zapiain, an expert in human sexuality. His insights provide a professional perspective on the development of sexual education programs over the last 25 years, highlighting strengths, shortcomings, and potential areas for improvement. Both studies allow for a comparison with the initial objectives of this research. The ultimate goal is to assess the effectiveness of existing programs, analyze the roles of the professionals involved (with special attention to the role of nursing staff) and reflect on the need to introduce new approaches or criteria that can lead to substantial improvements in sexual education in Spain.

Summary
Hospital emergency departments are a service in increasing demand in Spain. The Ministry of Health published in its latest report that more than 31 million patients were attended in this unit in 20221. Despite the fact that these figures may indicate otherwise, the fact is that patients who come to the hospital service perceive the care as hostile, threatening or uncomfortable2. Added to this is the fact that family accompaniment is often not possible, and that patients find themselves in an unfamiliar environment, far from their comfort zone, where it is easy for them to feel vulnerable2,3. This results in an important stress factor in addition to the reason for the health consultation itself. Among all these factors, studies have identified communication between healthcare personnel and the patient as the most stressful, which can even lead to anxiety2. Moreover, it should be taken into account that verbal communication will not always be possible due to the patient's condition, so that other types of communication and resources will be necessary4. There is a communication deficit between the healthcare professional and the user, in fact, it has been shown that between 30% and 50% of patients do not understand the indicated treatment, and patients understand less than 50% of what the professional is communicating3. On occasions, emergency departments present an environment that makes this interaction difficult, due to multiple factors, such as the high care load, the simultaneous care of several patients, the lack of healthcare personnel, or the impossibility of foreseeing a diagnosis2,5. Some studies show that the nurse-patient interaction usually lasts between one and five minutes in most cases4. Numerous studies show that effective communication between the patient and the health professional increases the quality of care for both the patient and the patient's family3. All this contributes to better recovery and prevention, as well as greater therapeutic adherence, with patients being more satisfied with their treatment and obtaining results focused on their own wellbeing3,6. However, there is currently no adequate training for professionals or basic evidence-based guidelines on which to base clinical practice. Considering the great demand for this unit, I consider it relevant to study this aspect of nursing care in order to improve the quality of care provided and improve the humanization of the services offered in hospitals.
