Introduce knowledge of the policy-making process and the actors involved in it. It is also the objective of the discipline to analyze the consequences of political intervention on the economy and society. It is also intended to address the knowledge of the internal and external operating logic of public organizations.
Study and analysis of the public policy development process, especially in the study of the problem definition process and its analytical treatment, in policy formulation and in its implementation and evaluation. Analysis of the operating logic of the actors involved in the policy-making process: politicians, bureaucrats and pressure groups. Study of power and conflict dynamics within public administrations.

The specific bibliography will be provided by the teacher with the presentation and monitoring of the syllabus. If students want more specialized bibliography, it will be provided in personalized tutorials.
Proporcionar las herramientas esenciales para el análisis y definición de los problemas públicos, la toma de decisiones y el diseño de políticas públicas. Se busca capacitar también para la toma de decisiones críticas. Comprender el funcionamiento del escenario público. Capacidad de realizar análisis deductivos sobre las consecuencias previsibles de las distintas políticas públicas. Conocer, comprender y saber determinar la adecuación de las distintas herramientas de política pública. Desarrollar capacidades de trabajo y meditación individual.

• Tutored assignments: individual and group work that delve into a topic.
• Individual and group tutorials.
The final note is made up of three parts:
- Exam (70%): demonstration of the knowledge acquired.
- Individual work (15%): at the proposal of the teacher. The work will deal with the content of readings and/or analysis of a sectoral public policy.
- Interactive/seminar (15%): monitoring and taking advantage of the interactive classes/seminars, adding the completion of the proposed tasks.
* The exam must be passed to pass the subject.
The Title Report presents the following information:
- Student's personal work: 100 hours.
The teacher will provide the study materials at the beginning of the course and during the presentation of the syllabus. Regular monitoring of the expository and interactive classes is recommended, as well as the preparation prior to class of the materials corresponding to the topic of the day, in such a way that their understanding is facilitated.
- Teacher-student communication will be carried out through email through the institutional account @rai.usc.es (students) and @usc.es (PDI).
- Mandatory use of the technological tools provided by the USC: Virtual Campus, Microsoft Office 365, and other tools provided by the faculty and authorized as institutional tools by the university.
- In cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the Assessment of Academic Performance of Students and the Review of Qualifications will apply.
