- To know the main chronic health problems in the field of psychiatry, taking into account health education for patients and families.
- Provide the tools for the development of specialized nursing care plans in the context of the helping relationship, for patients with psychiatric care needs.
- Identify the decision-making capacity of the patient, their family and close friends, taking into account their limits and exceptions.
- Apply the Nursing Care Process in psychiatric care, guaranteeing quality and safety to the people attended. - Encourage a patient-centered, recovery-based approach to care.

- Expository teaching:
It will be based on face-to-face master classes, presented by the teacher where he/she will explain the concepts of the subject with the support of audiovisual and computer media. There will be questions and debates.
- Interactive teaching: Face-to-face sessions that will deal with specific topics of the subject, which can complement or develop specific aspects introduced in expository teaching. In these sessions, the active participation of the students, teamwork, the resolution and application of theory and debate based on rational and scientific arguments will be encouraged.
The evaluation will be carried out on a continuous and global basis using the following criteria and tools:
EXPOSITORY TEACHING: the evaluation of the mastery of the theoretical knowledge of the subject will be carried out by means of multiple-choice tests or short questions. It will have a value in the final grade of 60%.
INTERACTIVE TEACHING: active participation, teamwork skills, behaviour and quality of the tasks presented during interactive teaching will be valued. This section will have a final grade value of 40%. Both the number of assignments and the delivery period will be communicated well in advance, being visible through the virtual campus. Any assignment that is not delivered through the indicated platform (virtual campus, email, Teams) will not be collected within the indicated period and in the required format (.pdf, .doc, .pptx).
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS: - In order to pass the subject, it will be mandatory to pass both the theoretical test and the personal and/or group work. If the minimum score required in each of the parts is not achieved, the subject will not be passed. - Attendance at the expository and interactive teaching is an essential condition to be able to pass the subject, in accordance with the University's attendance regulations. Teaching exemption will only be applied in the cases determined by the centre in the expository classes, but not in the interactive classes. - Cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests will be applied in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of students and the review of qualifications" of the USC.
The subject consists of 3 ECTS. In this subject, students have 25.5 hours of face-to-face teaching (16 hours of expository teaching, 8 hours of interactive teaching and 1.5 hours of tutoring).
For every hour of expository teaching, 1.5 hours of student work are considered necessary. With regard to interactive teaching, for each hour, one hour is considered necessary for the revision of the class.
In addition to the above, students should bear in mind that it is necessary to practice solving the problems raised during the different teachings.
Attendance at the expository and interactive sessions is essential for the follow-up and improvement of the subject. Students must carry out the activities recommended by the teacher, such as problem solving, literature review and practical exercises, in order to obtain the necessary skills to successfully pass the subject.
In accordance with article 9.2.a of the USC Student Statute and article 36 of the Organic Law of the University System, the use of electronic devices (mobile phones, tablets, computers, etc.) is not authorized in expository and interactive classes unless expressly authorized by the teacher for didactic purposes.
