Health and Safety Committee
Composition and competences of the USC Health and Safety Committee.
In accordance with the provisions of Law 31/1995 on the prevention of occupational hazards, the Health and Safety Committee (HSC) will have the following competences and powers:
- Participate in the preparation, implementation and assessment of plans and programmes for the prevention of occupational risks in the USC. To do this, it shall discuss, prior to their implementation and in relation to their impact on risk prevention:
- Projects relating to planning, work organisation and the introduction of new technologies.
- The organisation and development of protection and prevention activities.
- The project and organisation of training in preventive matters.
- Propose initiatives on methods and procedures for the effective prevention of risks, proposing the improvement of conditions or the correction of existing deficiencies.
- Be directly aware of the situation regarding risk prevention in the work centres, for this purpose, undertaking the visits it deems appropriate.
- Be acquainted with documents and reports relating to working conditions that are necessary for the fulfilment of its duties. Also, the documents and reports #proceeding from the activity of the Risk Prevention Service (RPS).
- Be aware of and analyse the damage caused to the health or physical integrity of the staff, to assess the causes and propose the appropriate measures.
- Be aware of and report on the annual report and programme of the RPS.
- Agree on the holding of joint meetings with health and safety committees or, in the absence of this body, prevention delegates from external companies that carry out their activities in USC workplaces.
