The extraordinary tutorial support will have a learning methodology to be established between the teacher-tutor and the student. The teacher-tutor will define the guidelines to be followed by the student in the development of the learning process, which will provide sufficient elements to assess the student's progress, maintaining, in any case, the necessary guarantees and transparency.
Tutorial support can only be requested throughout the academic year and during the common exam opportunities, excluding the extraordinary end-of-course exam; that is, students who request tutorial support for a common exam (first semester, second semester or annual exam) can take the end-of-degree exam, but they cannot receive tutorial support to pass the subject in this exam.
Applications shall be submitted electronically through the student's virtual secretary's office or through the USC's electronic headquarters.
- First period (1st semester and annual subjects): The application period will be from 15 to 30 September 2023.
- Second period (2nd semester subjects): Support may be requested from 7 to 20 February 2024.
Students enrolled in any official degree programme at USC who meet the following requirements may apply:
- They must have a maximum of 18 credits or three subjects pending to complete their degree studies (this excludes the Final Degree Project, compulsory work placements, supervised work placements and the Practicum).
- That have exhausted at least two calls for exams, in each of the subjects for which they are applying for support.
These requirements may be met at the beginning of the academic year or after the first semester exams.
Those enrolled in subjects without teaching rights may also be eligible for extraordinary tutorial support, as long as they meet the other requirements established in this call for applications for subjects with teaching rights.
Students who are granted tutorial support will have the same number of opportunities in each academic year to pass the subject as other students, in accordance with the applicable regulations for the degrees they are taking.
Tutorial support may not be requested in the case of subjects taken that are not required for the degree, except in the case that they are required for another speciality, study plan or mention.
