The subject analyses the problems most directly related to work performance; this is, it pays attention to the particularities that affect managers acting at the lower levels of the organizational structure, with direct competence and responsibility in the direction and control of work; in other words, this subject focuses on the application or utilization of the process. Among others, it pays attention to the following contents: time and movement studies and work scheduling, work measurement, work scheduling, work control, corrective action, and rescheduling.

On successful completion of the module the student will be able:
Contribution to the general competences of the course:
- To locate, analyze, synthesize and manage different types and sources of information.
- To work individually and in teams.
- To present and defend adequately, orally and/or in writing, an issue or topic of a general nature or related to their specialisation.
Contribution to the specific competences of the course:
-To differentiate, describe and apply techniques, as well as make decisions in the organizational and human resources management field.
Specific competences of the module:
-To develop of the ability to identify work operations, skills for performance scheduling and task allocation, as well as skills for performance monitoring and corrective decision making
The content of the module syllabus will be developed in the lectures and practical sessions provided for this purpose, in which the basic bibliography for the study of each topic explained will be provided.
The module will have a virtual classroom.
The lectures and practical sessions with problem solving, text commentary and case study will take place in the stipulated schedule and classrooms, using the virtual classroom for downloading materials and for the delivery of some classwork. Tutorial support may take place in person or virtually (using the virtual classroom messaging or Microsoft Teams).
The subject is assessed in a continuous evaluation process in which all the assignments and tasks completed during the term are taken into account.
This evaluation will consider aspects such as clarity and expository skills, terminology knowledge or active participation, weighting 50% of the final grade, and a final exam focused primarily on the assessment of the knowledge acquired, weighting the other 50% of the final grade.
In the case of fraudulent completion of any coursework, the provisions of the "Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of students and grade review" will apply.
In order to pass the module, students must obtain a mark higher or equal to 5 (out of 10) in the exam, and an aggregate mark of exam and assignments also higher or equal to 5 (out of 10).
In case of not passing the module, the final grade will be the one obtained in the exam.
Attendance to both lectures and interactive sessions is compulsory, unless the student is granted a waiver of attendance following the Instruction N. 1/2017 of the General Secretary´s Office, on the waiver of class attendance in certain circumstances. Students who are granted the dispensation will be evaluated with a specific final exam that will account for 100% of the final grade.

Guided independent study: 49 hours.
Assessment preparation: 25 hours.
