Summary
This research work aims to analyze and explore the reality of children in residential foster care who, upon reaching a certain age between 16 and 18 years old, are forced to emancipate, often without an external support network. They must enter a process aimed at achieving personal autonomy and social and labor integration. The objective is to identify what programs or pathways exist to provide support or protection during this process, to analyze the available resources and the effectiveness of these programs, to understand their design, the requirements and profiles of their beneficiaries, how long they have existed, and whether they truly function as a suitable, effective, and inclusive post-residential protection system that accommodates different personal circumstances and profiles. This will be carried out using a mixed-methods approach, collecting and comparing information, both quantitative data and interviews with various professionals working in child protection and in deinstitutionalization resources specific to the emancipation process.

Summary
The Minimum Living Income (IMI) as a social benefit was approved in 2021 following the COVID-19 pandemic through a Popular Legislative Initiative. Until now, the minimum incomes of the Autonomous Communities represented the last link in the Spanish income guarantee system, so the implementation of this state-managed income represents a historic milestone in our country. Four years after its implementation, few studies have been conducted on it. Therefore, the main objective of this qualitative research is to analyze the opinions of social professionals on the inclusive capacity of the IMV and Risga benefits in the municipality of Marín and their coexistence. To this end, a qualitative methodology is used, using a focus group as a data collection technique. The group is comprised of eight social professionals from Marín, where the practicum course for the degree in social work is taught. The results obtained show a differentiation in profiles between both benefits, with the gradual incorporation of new income and the existence of a chronic profile, a lack of support and guidance for users from the Social Security management body, and the double disadvantage of female recipients of social benefits. Similarly, needs for improvement are noted for both benefits. The conclusions of this research point to a series of deficiencies detected in minimum incomes, specifically in the Risga benefit, which are not addressed by the IMV (Mean Income System), which has limited inclusive potential, addressing aid only to the economic dimension of social exclusion.

Summary
Comorbidity is the coexistence of two or more illnesses in the same person, usually related. Both Eating Disorders (ED) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) pose a challenge when it comes to social intervention, due to the high sensitivity that people diagnosed with one of them can exhibit. The challenge increases when considering the comorbidity that exists between the two of them as well as the existence of a simultaneous diagnosis of an ED and ASD in the same person, since there must be sought effective courses of action and intervention that do not disturb this sensitivity and are effective. This literature review seeks to highlight this reality and the importance of creating specialized resources, services, or spaces, and also the importance of research from a social perspective. The analysis of a total of 22 selected publications demonstrates the existence and prevalence of this comorbidity, especially in adolescents and young women. Even so, most studies follow a clinical perspective, with little representation of the social aspect or intervention proposals for this dual condition. This study recognizes therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, as well as approaches that emphasize the importance of working with families. However, there is a lack of programs that consider the psychosocial perspective and integrate social work into the intervention. This work aims to promote the implementation of a social perspective and intervention in the treatment and recovery processes of people with this comorbidity.

Summary
The consequence of the active aging of the population is that people live longer, reason why this situation is becoming a housing problem. Therefore guaranteeing the quality of life of older people is increasingly compromised, due to the scarcity of social and housing resources to provide the care that the population needs. For this reason, the cohousing model, or the so-called collaborative housing, is an ideal resource for the population group that, in order to see themselves at an advanced age, and with all that if implies, prefers to be able to live in a community, at the same time that they weave support networks and fight against unwanted loneliness. This project analyzes the perceptions of possible users of the cohousing model, as well as the professional perspective Social Work´s in relation to this housing model and active aging in current Galician society.

Summary
Non-professional care consists of the care provided by family members, spouses, and close individuals without any financial compensation, thus experiencing changes in various areas. Therefore, this research project is proposed to analyze the psychosocial impact of non professional caregivers of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease belonging to ALCER in A Coruña. Chronic Kidney Disease is a serious health problem that leads to a progressive decrease in one or both kidneys, causing health complications, a need for support, care, and medical assistance. The importance of this project from the profession of Social Work lies in reflecting the need to have professionals to provide support and accompaniment to non-professional caregivers. Considering the above, a study is proposed with an interpretative paradigm and a methodology with a qualitative approach. The data collection will be carried out through semi-structured interviews and five focus groups to understand the perspective and viewpoint of non-professional caregivers.

Summary
The demands of individuals on basic community social services continue to exist, and alongside these demands, there is a significant lack of awareness among people regarding their own rights. This lack of awareness is present both in the school-aged population with more recent knowledge and in the older population. This ignorance gives rise to a gap in social benefits coverage known as the Non-Take-Up phenomenon, which negatively impacts people's quality of life. The main objective of this research design is to identify the public's lack of knowledge about their social rights, the role that education plays in this phenomenon, and the role that Social Work plays in the educational field. The methodology to be used is qualitative, following an interpretative paradigm and using a non-probability or purposive sampling method. The aim is to collect information through an open group interview with selected participants in order to gather their opinions.

Summary
In Spain, chemsex has become an emerging phenomenon among homosexual, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men. It involves the use of psychoactive substances combined with prolonged and uninhibited sexual practices. This practice poses significant challenges from the perspectives of public health, addiction, and social exclusion, as it is often influenced by factors such as stigma, lack of specialized resources, and internalized homophobia. Despite progress in prevention and care programs, many individuals who engage in chemsex continue to face structural and emotional barriers that hinder access to safe and tailored services. This qualitative research project aims to analyze the social construct of risk perception among men who practice chemsex, exploring their motivations, consequences, and coping strategies. The project is framed within the socio-critical paradigm and employs the biographical-narrative method to deeply understand the participants' subjective experiences. The sampling will be intentional, including users treated for mephedrone use at the drug dependency unit of ACLAD A Coruña. Data collection will be carried out through narrative interviews, and a thematic content analysis will be conducted until theoretical saturation is reached. The development of this qualitative research project will take place from February 2025 to March 2026.

Summary
“Huellas de Vida” is a social work intervention project based on Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) for seniors at the Coia Day Center in Vigo. Its purpose is to improve the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social well-being of users through interaction with dogs, promoting autonomy, self-esteem, mobility, and reducing isolation. In light of the growing aging population in Spain, which carries with it greater risks of loneliness, dependency, and age discrimination, AAT emerges as a non-pharmacological tool that leverages the human-animal bond to generate improvements. The project is based on theoretical models such as Age Friendly, the biopsychosocial model, and EcoSocial Social Work. It uses the Pellitero Method, which focuses on personalizing the intervention with dogs as cognitive and emotional stimulation. The plan includes workshops for emotional benefit, reducing social well-being, cognitive stimulation, increasing self-esteem, and improving mobility, among others. Its implementation will be coordinated with the Ramalladas Association.

The aim of this paper is to understand the current reality of Penitentiary Institutions in Spain, as well as to know the relevance of the Social Work profession in the penitentiary context; since, as we will see, the figure of the Social Worker is essential in a process such as serving a sentence. It starts with a journey through the Penitentiary Institutions, its origin and evolution, an approach to legislation and finally an approach to Prison Social Work, emphasizing the functions and the relevance of the profession in this field. The information provided is intended to place the reader before a reality that is sometimes ignored and often made invisible because it is one of the groups of the population that have the most difficult social reintegration due to the prejudices to which they are exposed. A quantitative research is proposed through the application of a self-administered questionnaire addressed to the inmate population of the Penitentiary Center of Bonxe in order to know the perception that the inmates have about the Penitentiary Institutions, the functioning of the same and those aspects that concern it, under the lens of Social Work.

Summary
This thesis analyzes gender-based violence among women over 65 years of age residing in rural municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants, as well as the perspectives of social professionals working in these contexts. Despite progress in the fight against gender-based violence, this group remains one of the most invisible in both research and public policy design. Therefore, this work seeks to reduce this knowledge gap by analyzing the factors that influence their access to resources and the obstacles they face in seeking support. To address this problem, we opted for a mixed methodological strategy that integrates quantitative and qualitative techniques with the objective of obtaining a broad and deep understanding of the phenomenon investigated. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted with men over 65 years of age who reside in rural municipalities with little access to specialized resources to explore in depth their perceptions, subjective experiences and difficulties in accessing resources. In the quantitative phase, a descriptive design was employed through the application of semi-structured questionnaires to a selected sample of social intervention professionals. Using this technique, standardized information was collected about their professional experience in this field and an analysis was made of the difficulties that these women experience in access to resources, social, institutional and economic barriers, and possible recovery strategies. The integration of both approaches carried out in the phase of analysis and interpretation of results made it possible to establish connections between the quantitative and qualitative aspects and offer a broader vision of the studied phenomenon. The results will contribute to making this problem visible and to designing intervention strategies adapted to the reality of older people in rural areas, reinforcing the role of Social Work in detecting, supporting and improving access to resources in rural contexts.

Summary
This review seeks to examine the literature on burnout among informal caregivers of older and/or dependent adults, focusing on the tasks developed within the field of social work in these situations, primarily in the areas of counseling, psychosocial support, and resource management for informal caregivers. It also analyzes available resources, such as family respite, training programs, and counseling, and the role of social work in providing emotional and community support to these individuals. It will also focus on risk factors associated with informal caregiving, such as emotional overload, social isolation, lack of institutional support, and the feminization of the caregiving role. It identifies protective factors such as resilience, perceived social support, and specific training, which can mitigate the psychological impact of prolonged caregiving. The study compiles and analyzes the results of research conducted in Spain between 2010 and 2025, offering a critical perspective on the institutional and community response to the needs of informal caregivers. From a social work perspective, the paper highlights the importance of promoting care models based on shared responsibility, emotional support, and caregiver-centered interventions, recognizing their fundamental role in the long-term care system.

Summary
This Final Degree Project corresponds to a direct group-based social intervention project, which aims to increase comprehensive social support for migrant women victims of gender-based violence in Santiago de Compostela. This intervention project will be carried out through talks and workshops on various topics, with the objective of enhancing and promoting the autonomy and empowerment of these women, which will contribute to the future detection and prevention of gender-based violence. Gender-based violence is deeply rooted in our society and is often exacerbated for migrant women, who may suffer such violence and even face discrimination for being both women and migrants. For this reason, it is crucial to implement projects of this nature, as migrant women victims of gender-based violence are at high risk of experiencing the same consequences again. This social intervention project is based on the proposal set out by García Herrero and Ramírez Navarro in the manual Design and Evaluation of Social Projects (1996) and in the Practical Manual for Evaluating Social Projects (2006), both authored by them.

Summary
This literatura review aims to analyze the scientific production on loneliness and grief among older adults during the pandemic, taking into account the perspective of Social Work. The methodology used is a theoretical narrative review, conducted using databases such as Dialnet, Scopus, Web Of Science and PsycINFO, from which, after the filtering process, 32 articles were identified. The results of this literature review revealed a significant increase in loneliness among older adults, as well as complicated grief processes due to the inability to carry out rituals and farewells as a consequence of the health restrictions imposed. Social workers adapted their interventions to the crisis context by using new technologies, which in turn revealed certain inequalities. Overall, the pandemic had major psychosocial consequences, highlighting the role of Social Work professionals, who played a fundamental part in the social sphere, although their work was limited due to a lack of resources and recognition.

Summary
This Final Degree Project aims to analyse the impact of cancer diagnosis on the quality of life of patients and their families, from an integral perspective of Social Work. The research falls within the constructivist paradigm, which allows us to understand the subjective experiences and meanings that people attribute to the experience of cancer. A qualitative methodology is proposed, with a purposive theoretical sampling, selecting participants who can contribute relevant and diverse information. The purpose of the open interview technique is use for data collection, favouring an open dialogue about the emotions, difficulties and changes faced by patients and their families after diagnosis. As a purpose, the study proposes a model of intervention from Social Work, oriented towards promoting integral wellbeing and facilitating adaptation to treatment. This model focuses on active listening, empathy, emotional support, resource management and the strengthening of support networks. Whe start from the premise that the oncological diagnosis has a strong emotional and social impact, affecting identity, the family and work environment and the life project. The intervention of Social Work is key to accompany this process, offering tools that favour resilience and a better quality of life for patients and their families.

This Final Degree Project (TFG) conducts a narrative literature review with the ultimate goal of examining the most recent scientific literature on the role of social work and its intervention in migratory grief processes. Various publications on the phenomenon of migration and migratory grief are analyzed to synthesize the relevant information. The main results are the mental health impact that the migration process has on migrants, often causing what is known as Ulysses Syndrome, as well as stress and feelings of loss in various areas of their lives. The project highlights the lack of research on this topic and the importance of professionals understanding the symptoms of Ulysses Syndrome and implementing interventions based on empathy. The project also emphasizes the need to provide training to professionals on this phenomenon in order to be able to carry out interventions appropriately.

Summary
Childhood cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality in children worldwide. This disease greatly affects all aspects of the life of children and their families due to the physical, psychological, and social problems triggered by the disease from the moment of diagnosis. Family conciliation plays a crucial role in the emotional, social and mental well-being of families directly or indirectly affected by childhood cancer. This Final Degree Project (FDP) presents a research project on family reconciliation in households with children with cancer and other family burdens, emphasizing the importance of the social work profession in this type of process. The objective of this FDP is to explore the realities of families facing a child with cancer in the family unit, as well as other family burdens, regarding the topic of family reconciliation. To this end, a qualitative methodology was chosen, as the goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon under study, due to its ability to explore the perceptions of participants in depth. Finally, the document includes a first section called the theoretical framework, which presents all the content gathered from the research. The second part is the methodology, which sets out all the content related to the method for carrying out the research and, finally, the dissemination of research results.

Summary
This Final Degree Project is a social intervention project to support families and the judicial system. The aim is to promote positive co-parenting between separated parents, or parents in the process of separation, with children in common. This intervention involves the voluntary participation of fathers, mothers and even minors in certain activities. The aim is for parents to maintain parenthood under the criteria of shared custody, which are the most suitable criteria for carrying out parenthood in these cases. Through the activities that will be carried out, they will be able to better understand the attitudes, care and responsibilities they should have towards their children. The activities that will be developed are divided into three parts, the first activity would be a set of talks where awareness is raised about co-parenting and the criteria that work as a basis to know if a shared custody is feasible. The second part are activities that reinforce teamwork between parents. Finally, the different experiences will be shared with the rest of the parents.

Summary
Galicia, historically a land of emigration, has in recent decades experienced a change in its demographic composition due to the influx of an increasing number of foreign nationals, many from Latin America, not forgetting those from African and European countries. On the other hand, mental health is currently regarded as one of the fundamental pillars for social and personal well-being. In this field, the Galician community faces a growing and increasingly complex demand, compounded by a shortage of specialised personnel and a significant overload on the limited number of professionals available. This research aims to study and shed light on the access and coverage that the migrant community has to the public mental health services in Galicia. It will also analyse the knowledge and opinions of social work professionals in the psychiatric sphere, together with the experiences and perceptions of the migrant population with regard to the aforementioned situation. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative methodology will be applied, specifically through interviews, based on constructivist paradigms and critical theory. Through these interviews, the aim is to determine the main mental health issues affecting this group, as well as to identify the bureaucratic and socio-economic barriers that hinder access to and coverage of services. This will make it possible to propose alternatives for more inclusive care.

Summary
This bibliographic review analyses how aporophobia manifests itself in the judicial system and the impact that economic and symbolic barriers have on access to it, with a social work approach, for the promotion of equitable and inclusive justice. The main results show that aporophobia is institutionalised, and how barriers to accessing adequate legal defence affect the social exclusion of people experiencing poverty. It shows how social work is a key tool to reduce these barriers, proposing alternatives to prison and other models of justice. These results were achieved through a systematic literature review, conducted using various search equations and Boolean operators across different databases. The findings were then organized and analyzed following the PRISMA methodology. In conclusion, this review highlights the need for judicial reform to ensure equal access to justice, the expansion of more restorative and rehabilitative models and the sensitisation of judicial actors to aporophobia. Reforms should follow a comprehensive approach that addresses both access to remedies and the elimination of prejudice within the justice system, with an emphasis on the role of social work

This Final Degree Project consists of a qualitative research study. It aims to explore the process of integration of Moroccan migrants living in Santiago de Compostela. Therefore, the study focuses on the social integration of this group, paying particular attention to their subjective perceptions and lived experiences of integration, thus giving visibility to their voices. On the other hand, the study will also consider the perspectives of social work professionals from organizations that provide support to migrants, specifically regarding the integration of Moroccan individuals in terms of their demands, available resources, and needs. This will provide a broader view of integration processes and contribute a professional perspective. These two aspects constitute the main objectives of the research, which will be pursued through the use of semi-structured interviews with Moroccan migrants and the development of a focus group with social workers. Ultimately, the purpose of this research is to obtain relevant information that can be useful for professional social work practice when supporting Moroccan migrants in their integration processes. The findings aim to improve social interventions in this area.

Summary
In recent years, the use of short videos on social media such as TikTok and Instagram Reels has grown significantly, especially among young people. This Final Degree Project is a mixed-method research project that seeks to explore the impact of this type of content on the mental health and concentration capacity of those who consume it. From a Social Work perspective, it is considered important to address this digital phenomenon, as it can be linked to symptoms of anxiety, distraction, or dependence on constant stimulation. Through semi-structured interviews with users and their families, along with surveys also conducted with adolescents and families, the aim is to better understand users' experiences and perceptions, as well as the potential emotional and social consequences of this consumption. The intention is that, based on the results a critical reflection can be provided to generate intervention proposals from the professional field, especially in contexts where these dynamics affect well-being and personal development. This study also seeks to open a space for considering how Social Work can adapt to the challenges posed by new technologies in everyday life.

Summary
This research project explores the issue of residential exclusion among the immigrant population in Santiago de Compostela, understood as one of the most severe forms of violation of the right to housing and a key factor in social exclusion processes. Housing, beyond its material value, is seen as a fundamental space of security, dignity, and integration, especially for those arriving in a new country under vulnerable conditions. The main objective of this study is to identify the factors that hinder immigrants' access to adequate housing and to analyze the role of social work professionals in supporting and intervening in such situations. To this end, a mixed-methods approach is proposed, combining semi-structured interviews and questionnaires addressed to both immigrants and social work professionals. Through this methodology, the study aims to gather both qualitative and quantitative data in order to develop a broad, contextualized, and well-grounded understanding of residential exclusion. Data will be analyzed using ATLAS.ti for qualitative inputs and the SPSS software program for quantitative ones, with the goal of addressing the stated objectives and contributing to a deeper understanding of the phenomenon.

Summary
This Bachelor´s Thesis investigates the relationship and emotional bonds between people experiencing homelessness in Santiago de Compostela and their companion animals. Its general objective is to analyze the influence that a companion animal has on the emotional bonds and mental health of individuals in situations of homelessness, as well as to identify the role of these animals in processes of social inclusion. Using a qualitative methodology, the study aims to explore the subjective experiences of people without a home in the city who maintain emotional connections with their animals. Additionally, it examines how the human-animal relationship in the context of homelessness can limit access to social, housing, and intervention resources, incorporating an EcoSocial perspective. The topic is approached from a holistic perspective, recognizing the interconnection between individuals, environment, structural conditions, and emotional ties with other living beings. The study is grounded in the understanding that animals are active participants in the relational and emotional environment of people experiencing homelessness. It emphasizes the importance of integrating animals into Social Work practices to promote well-being and social inclusion. The analysis focuses on two groups: homeless individuals with animals living in Santiago de Compostela, and Social Work professionals in the city who are involved in programs specifically dedicated to the inclusion of homeless people. The project highlights the importance of including animals in interventions and Social Services from an EcoSocial, holistic, and empathetic perspective, recognizing the value of their emotional bonds. This inclusion may be key to advancing toward more humane and context-sensitive care models, better suited to the complexity of social realities.
