The 3rd edition of the Video Creation Contest and a new edition of the Photomarathon, both part of Lugo Cultural, are the audiovisual proposals for the month of November
Lugo

While there is still a little over a month and a half left for Christmas, there are some early presents waiting at Campus Terra this November. And they have been placed there in style, under huge spotlights, with microphones that capture the sound of gifts being unwrapped — gifts that are sitting under the trees as a result of the very best art direction.

Wrapped in an epic soundtrack, a new edition of the Video Creation Contest returns to the Lugo Campus as part of Lugo Cultural and with the support of the USC, the Culture Department of the Lugo City Council and the Vice-Presidency of the Lugo Provincial Council.

The sound of the clapperboard announces the beginning of its 3rd edition, which focuses on celebrating and channeling the artistic interests of young people, as well as on recognising the new expressions where literature converges with audiovisual creation.

All those interested can participate in this initiative individually or as part of a group by entering an unpublished and original piece of no more than 5 minutes. The clock is already ticking, as the deadline for submitting entries is next Friday, November 22nd at 15:00 h.

Just like the creative stars shine on this event, so do its awards, which seek to pay a posthumous tribute to Isidro Novo and Araceli Herrero. To this end, the three winners of the contest will receive 400 euros in cash each. The categories of the awards are the following: the Isidro Novo Award, for the entry with the best literary language; the Araceli Herrero Award, intended for the entry that best encompasses all aspects of communication by using different expressions; and a third award that will focus on aesthetic traits related to the images, lighting, artistic direction and visual editing.

Another event on the calendar of Lugo Cultural is the 27th edition of the Lugo Campus Photomarathon. On Sunday 14th, it will bring all participants together to take photos for 24 hours straight — the three photographs selected by the jury will be awarded a combined total of 900 euros.

If you want to enjoy the magic of audiovisual creation, register for free by filling in the form on the Lugo Cultural website and sending it to cultura.lugo [at] usc.es (cultura[dot]lugo[at]usc[dot]es). At this same address, you can also register to participate in the Photomarathon until Friday, November 12th at 13:00 h.
