Deadlines for requesting extensions
From 15th to 30th November 2023 for those students whose deadline for submitting their thesis falls within the period from 1st February to 31st August 2024.
From 21st June to 5th July 2024 for those students whose deadline for submitting their thesis falls within the period from 1st of September 2024 to 31st January 2025.
From 15th November to 2nd December 2024 for those students whose deadline for submitting their thesis falls within the period from 1st February to 31st August 2025.
From 23rd June to 7th July 2025 for those students whose deadline for submitting their thesis falls within the period from 1st of September 2025 to 31st January 2026.

Non-teaching periods
There will be non-teaching periods in August, public holidays and other periods of interruption in the academic activities.
The periods of interruption in the academic activities will be:
- From 21st December 2024 until 7th January 2025 (both dates included)
- Carnival Monday and Tuesday (3rd and 4th March 2025)
- Easter (from the 14th until 18th April 2025, both dates included)
There will also be a non-teaching day on Friday 27th January 2025, date of celebration of San Tomé de Aquino, and also the days stated public holiday by the Gobernment, the Autonomous Region and those days corresponding to local public holidays in each Campus. The 8th September 2023 will also be a non-teaching day as it is the official opening day for the academic year 2023-2024.
This does not affect
The deadline period the PhD student has for the submission of the thesis for its processing. The deadline will be the one indicated in the student file regardless of whether it is a teaching or non-teaching day.
This affects
The public exposure period of the thesis as well as the date of the thesis defence act.
