Special Olympics Galicia is a non-profit organisation of parents, professionals and friends of people with intellectual disabilities who work to promote their inclusion through sport, leisure and culture.
The real goal of their sporting activities is to promote the capabilities of each participant, redirecting attention, not to their limitations, but to characteristics such as initiative, leadership, cooperation, courage and self-control. They also promote qualities such as agility, flexibility, endurance and coordination, characteristics that help people with intellectual disabilities to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
