Summary
Since the nineteenth century, the figure of the captive woman has held a central place in the Argentine cultural imaginary, serving as a symbol of the foundational conflicts between civilization and barbarism and as a point of tension in discourses on nation, gender, and identity. Her representation, both in literature and the visual arts, has oscillated between victimization, romantic idealization, and political instrumentalization, configuring her as a liminal, eroticized, and silenced body, shaped by the patriarchal, white, and literate narrative. This work arises from the motivation to critically revisit these hegemonic narratives, which still resonate in the construction of history today. From this concern, the main objective of the research is to analyze how the figure of the captive woman has been represented in nineteenth-century Argentine literature and painting, and how these representations have contributed to legitimizing projects of cultural, territorial, and gender domination. Furthermore, it proposes to rewrite this figure from a feminist and decolonial perspective, recovering silenced voices and imagining new ways of narrating her experience. The methodology combines a critical-discursive approach with iconographic and literary analysis, integrating tools from gender studies, postcolonial theory, and visual studies. Texts by Echeverría, Hernández, and Mansilla are analyzed, as well as works by Blanes, Della Valle, Rugendas, Monvoisin, and other artists of the period. Theoretical support is drawn from authors such as Segato, Rotker, Iglesia, among others. The research culminates in an exhibition proposal that, through installations, projections, and other participatory devices, seeks to offer a critical rereading of the myth of the captive woman, articulating elements of contemporary art with historical archives and restitutive fictions. The exhibition aims to make visible the tensions between representation and power, giving space to voices excluded from the official narrative. The work is structured in two parts. The first develops the theoretical and historical framework of the topic, addressing the treatment of the captive woman in nineteenth-century art and literature. The second part describes the curatorial design of the exhibition project, detailing its aesthetic, political, and symbolic foundations. In this way, research and artistic practice are brought together, proposing a critical intervention on cultural memory at the intersection of art, history, and gender.

Summary
The project explores the presence of Francophonie and the French language in Morocco, examining their impact on local culture and their implications within society. It highlights the importance of the Institut Français and the Alliance Française in promoting the French language and culture in the Moroccan context. Through a theoretical analysis, the study traces the history of the French language in Morocco, from the colonial period to the present day. This work will also address the following questions: Is culture the only factor promoting the French language in Moroccan society, or do other elements such as literature and education also play a role? Is the presence of the French language in Morocco solely linked to the historical relationship between the two countries, or are there also economic and social factors involved? This first theoretical part also aims to define key concepts related to Francophonie and to analyze how these institutions have influenced educational and cultural practices. The second part will explore this impact through the proposal of a Literary Meeting organized at the Institut Français of Kenitra over two days. This initiative aims to promote cultural exchange and the professional development of Moroccan writers who express themselves in French, while also addressing the logistical aspects involved in organizing such an event. The goal is to show how these activities enrich Moroccan culture and strengthen ties with the Francophone world.

Summary
This work stems from an analysis of the 2nd year of ESO curriculum, the educational stage in which the Middle Ages are covered, where a scarce and frequently stereotyped presence of women is detected. Based on this observation, five thematic axes are proposed, leading to a didactic proposal consisting of five activities, each linked to an axis, designed to offer students a plural, complex, and active vision of the female role in medieval Galicia. To achieve this, active methodologies are employed, including the analysis of primary sources, cooperative work, creative projects, and guided reflection, fostering critical and participatory learning. Framed within the field of cultural services, this proposal conceives the school as a fundamental space to connect current historiographical research with dissemination and critical education, contributing to overcoming reductionist imaginaries and promoting a richer and more nuanced understanding of the past.

Summary
This research paper focuses on analyzing the cultural management processes developed over 22 years of activity by the theater association Pinchacarneiros, composed of individuals with disabilities. The objective is to observe whether this management has contributed to the sociocultural cohesion of people with disabilities in the city of Lugo. To conduct this analysis, a qualitative methodology was employed, based on the model for evaluating and identifying the impact of cultural projects proposed by Álvaro Fierro (2020). This involved a series of structured interviews with members of the association, the general community of Lugo, institutional cultural agents, as well as founders and representatives of Pinchacarneiros. After cross-analyzing the data obtained using three sociocultural indicators: social integration, community networks, and institutional participation it was observed that, despite the association's extensive history and significant cultural involvement, many strategies are being overlooked in management efforts aimed at achieving visibility, sociocultural cohesion, and professionalization of the group. Consequently, a series of conclusions are drawn that acknowledge the association's contributions at the sociocultural level within the city and encourage the continued development of this research through management models and cultural practices applied to groups composed of individuals with disabilities.

Summary
This case study examines the life of Josep Maria Casas Moral, a Catalan who emigrated during the Spanish post-war period and spent the rest of his life in Córdoba, Argentina. It explores how identity is shaped over time -in this case, through early migration and the enduring effort to remember and reconstruct a fragment of Catalonia abroad. Are identities -whether individual or collective- coherent and fixed, or are they imperfect, evolving constructs? Grounded in a theoretical framework that serves as both lens and tool, and informed by the close reading of a singular personal narrative, this work aims to deepen our understanding of the complexities of identity. In doing so, it seeks to make room for ambiguity and pluralism at a time when appeals to essentialist and seamless forms of identification are gaining dangerous traction. Ultimately, this is an attempt to unpack and destabilize what is often perceived -or made to appear- as solid.

Since December 2023, Argentina has been governed by the far-right coalition La Libertad Avanza, whose economic program focuses on reducing public spending and restructuring the state's administration. Ideologically, it seeks to dominate the cultural dimension of society through the so-called 'cultural battle'. While this context affects the Argentine cultural field as a whole, this work focuses on the situation of theater in the City of Buenos Aires. It also provides a theoretical definition of theater, establishes historical antecedents of Buenos Aires theater, and seeks to broaden thinking regarding the potential for its political resistance.

Summary
This master's thesis analyzes the transformative and cohesive role of music in the Galician sociocultural context through the development of a project for the formation of a Band-Music School. The research focuses on the capacity of music, specifically of bands and music schools, to foster civic participation, strengthen local identity, and promote intergenerational, social, and educational integration dynamics for youth. The first part of the project provides a historical contextualization of the band as a group and of musical education. The specific case of the municipality of Palas de Rei (Lugo) is then analyzed, taking its musical tradition and associative network as examples. Finally, an organizational, pedagogical, and social proposal is presented that integrates the music school, the band and the village, understanding it as an educational and community project committed to generational continuity, collaborative learning, and sustainable cultural development.

Summary
This study analyzes the ideological manipulation exerted by the Francoist regime over women in both rural and urban contexts, through mechanisms of control, repression, and indoctrination, particularly via the Sección Femenina. It examines the strategies used to impose the ideal Francoist model of womanhood, as well as the forms of female resistance that emerged in response, ultimately challenging the regime’s pursuit of ideological uniformity. Based on bibliographic, documentary, and visual sources, the research aims to critically explore these mechanisms of control and to highlight the significance of Galician feminist and female historical memory, emphasizing the intersection between gender, politics, and memory.

Summary
This paper proposes an ethnographic approach to the practices and knowledge of the women of Veiga do Pumar, a Francoist colonization village in the municipality of Castro de Rei that, from 1968, was responsible for hosting the families of Negueira de Muñiz affected by the construction of the Salime reservoir. Following Henri Lefebvre's premise of space as a support and as a product of social relations, the study addresses the ways in which, in the context of that resettlement, the landscape affected the practices of the settlers and how, through an exercise of appropriation of space, their practices also affected the landscape. The fieldwork consisted of participating in monthly meetings organized by the women of the village, conducting interviews and collecting photographs. The research reflects on the forms of female agency during the Franco regime and, at the same time, questions the future of rural villages in a context of climate change and lack of generational replacement.

Summary
This dissertation develops the theoretical bases and a proposal for a cultural service based on a critical review of the bestiary as a symbolic and visual system, with special attention to its reception and adaptation in the Galician context. The research is structured around five thematic axes that explore the multiple functions attributed to the animal figure in the Christian imaginary, from its moralising and didactic character to its dimension as a representation of otherness. Material manifestations of Galician heritage are analysed, such as Romanic sculpture and illuminated manuscripts, in which the animal operates as a mediating figure between the divine, the earthly and the monstrous. The last section is devoted to contemporary rereadings of the bestiary, highlighting the relevance of the animal symbol in current artistic practices. The project proposes an interdisciplinary dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation, aimed at re- signifying the expressive and cultural potential of the bestiary imaginary.

Summary
The Rey de Viana Galician Ballet has been a unique example of the stylization and dignification of traditional Galician dance and a showcase of the expression and universalization of cultural identity through choreographic language. This work analyzes its distinctive style, which integrates elements of folklore and academic dance, its evolution over more than fifty years, its meticulous staging, and its impact on the current dance scene in Galicia. This analysis is the base of the exhibition proposal that holds the theme of this Master's Thesis. It includes, organized by theme, images, fragments of choreographic pieces, costumes, props, and repertoire representation. In this way it is made clear its aesthetic value based on the reinterpretation of traditional dance and its role as a transmitter of intangible cultural heritage.

Summary
This master's thesis proposes a reflection on the transformative potential of music as a practice of inclusion, equity, and social justice, based on the experience of the Parasyphonic Orchestra of the State of São Paulo (OPESP). Composed of musicians with and without disabilities, OPESP breaks away from traditional models of musical production by creating a space of coexistence, plural listening, and the appreciation of diversity. More than a symbolic proposal, it constitutes a concrete practice of cultural and labor inclusion that articulates art, human rights, and public policy. The research begins by recognizing music as a sensitive and political territory, capable of bringing together bodies, histories, and subjectivities around a shared artistic practice. The main objective is to analyze how OPESP becomes an experience of belonging, dialogue, and recognition for artists, especially people with disabilities in their multiple dimensions: physical, sensory, and cognitive. By attentively listening to the voices of the orchestra’s participants, the study seeks to understand the meanings they attribute to their lived experience, revealing its challenges, contradictions, and transformative potential. Methodologically, this is a qualitative and interpretative study guided by a case study approach. Interviews with members of OPESP’s coordination team are the main source of data. The analytical focus encompasses both objective aspects, such as accessibility and working conditions, and subjective dimensions, such as emotions, recognition, and a sense of belonging. By considering OPESP as an innovative proposal of cultural public policy, this work analyzes how the initiative helps expand access to artistic work for people with disabilities and challenges the normative structures that still govern the musical field. The dissertation thus affirms the importance of guaranteeing the right to full and dignified cultural participation, recognizing the value of human plurality as a foundation for a truly inclusive society.

Summary
The MindoMúsica project is a singular and innovative cultural initiative focused on chamber music as a vehicle for artistic and social transmission. Held in Mondoñedo, a town with notable historical heritage and privileged acoustic conditions, this festival is defined by its commitment to interpretative excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration. Based on an “artists-in-residence” model unique in Galicia, MindoMúsica gathers leading performers and creators from across Europe for one intensive week of rehearsals and collaborative creation of high-quality cultural content. While music remains at the heart of the festival's programming, it is presented in dialogue with other disciplines such as dance, theatre, and literature. This openness fosters a cross-disciplinary exchange among artists from diverse fields, promoting a universal and inclusive artistic language. At the same time, the festival shows a strong commitment to accessibility, offering specific activities for varied audiences, including children, young people, the elderly, and individuals with functional diversity. MindoMúsica also aims to forge a deep connection with the local territory, contributing to the cultural, economic, and social revitalization of the A Mariña region and of Galicia as a whole. The festival serves as a meeting point between artists and the local community, with the goal of decentralizing culture and promoting the democratization of access to the arts in rural areas. In this regard, it partners with local educational and social institutions (such as schools, high schools, care centers, and nursing homes) to deliver pedagogical initiatives and inclusive musical experiences. Another cornerstone of the project is the appreciation and dissemination of Mondoñedo’s rich musical heritage, especially through the promotion of the valuable holdings of the Cathedral’s Music Archive. Furthermore, the festival actively supports the visibility and participation of women as artists, creators, and cultural entrepreneurs, asserting equality as a guiding principle. Aligned with its founding values, MindoMúsica embraces the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, adopting an ethical, social, and environmental perspective that promotes equality, sustainability, and cultural justice. Its strong focus on sustainable tourism (slow tourism) reinforces the festival’s commitment to rural development and respect for local identity. After five successful editions (the latest in 2023) the festival continues to grow, establishing itself as a cultural benchmark in Galicia and as an exemplary model of artistic management grounded in synergy, excellence, and community engagement.

Summary
The work analyzes the historical context, architectural evolution, and cultural transformation through theatre in Buenos Aires from the 18th century to the early 20th century. The proposal developed here arises from the motivation, on the one hand, to account for theatre as a socio-territorial event par excellence; and on the other hand, to reflect, through the theatres that still exist in the City of Buenos Aires, on what traces of European theatrical history they preserve and how those elements were appropriated to build a theatrical system with a local identity. This study is divided into two parts. The first outlines a theoretical journey from the origins of theatre in Europe to the first performances in the Río de la Plata region, leading To the subsequent formation of the Argentine theatrical system. The approach is structured around the most emblematic theatre venues located along Avenida Corrientes (Teatro Liceo, El Nacional, Maipo, Ópera, and Politeama), which are considered part of the city's cultural heritage. The research concludes with a proposal for a Cultural Service through an exhibition aimed at children, focusing on the theatrical creation process. This exhibition will be itinerant and take place in the foyer of each of the aforementioned theatres

Summary
The following study investigates the composition of contemporary art exhibitions, focusing on the mediation process. To achieve this, two temporary group exhibitions from two different institutions were visited and analyzed: Nuevos imaginarios (CGAC) and Otras historias posibles (Museo Centro Gaiás), using Greimasian semiotics, as well as Whitehead's (2011) considerations on interpretation in museums as a theoretical basis. Contemporary art is viewed here as a complex phenomenon, produced and exhibited within a network in which contemporaneity, the market, the museum, the public, artists and curators are tensely connected. The research reveals different discursive strategies, influenced by the thematic focus, the type of institution and even the artworks presented. The results also show that the curatorial thesis determines the selection, arrangement and communication of the works, which figurativise the central themes, as well as serving as guidance for which objects of value should be given, explained and praised to the visitor in the supporting texts.

Summary
The incorporation of women into public space has been one of the greatest revolutions of the 20th century, but this revolution remains incomplete. This entry of women into public space was not accompanied by a review of the functioning and organization of cities. A traditional private role, closely associated with caregiving, was not eliminated, nor was there a full inclusion of work, nor even a real inclusion in both public and private responsibilities. Therefore, this research will explain the gender inequalities that have existed anda continue to exist in the urban space: first, it will address the gender segregration that has existed throughout history, briefly reviewing the history of the city, starting with Greece, continuing through the medieval period, where it will focus on two excepcional cases: the Beguine societies and Christine de Pizán, due to their historical legacy. It will then continue through the modern period, and conclude with the contemporary era, where it will show how some of the characteristics of previous eras are maintained in Western societies, not only in public space but also in the creation of the city. To overcome this traditional approach, the introduction of a feminist perspective into urban planning will be proposed, and finally, examples of urban actions with a gender perspective will be presented.

Summary
This work offers a historical and anthropological perspective on popular artistic expressions as meeting points for community building and local development in the district of El Manzanillo, Itagüí, Colombia. The analysis focuses on artistic manifestations that have emerged in this territory from the mid-20th century to the present, recognizing the essential role of rural cultural and artistic practices in the creation of a sense of “common-unity.” Rather than conceptualizing specific artistic disciplines or delving into definitions of community, the core interest lies in understanding how popular artistic expressions foster community development and social cohesion within a culture. Two main artistic practices are at the heart of this inquiry: música parrandera and muralism. To this end, the research employs a historical-anthropological methodology that first examines rural culture, traditional gatherings, and collective actions, then focuses on música parrandera as an oral tradition legacy that becomes song in community encounters, thus contributing to cultural transmission. The study also provides a historical view of the political and communal role of women in the construction of social fabric, seeking to amplify their voices within the collective historical narrative. Finally, it analyzes the community-building processes emerging among new generations and the resignification of artistic expressions within the frameworks of popular education promoted by Fundación Cultural El Hormiguero, a youth organization born in the heart of this community.

Summary
This project proposes the conceptualization and development of an exhibition about the historical signage of Pontevedra, highlighting its cultural and graphic significance as well as its evolution over time. The work emphasizes the role of these elements in the city's visual and cultural identity, underlining the need to rescue, preserve, and value them as part of the collective heritage. Through a literature review and the analysis of similar projects, topics such as historical commercial graphics, the patrimonialization of urban design, and its relationship with the local social and economic fabric are addressed. The project also includes the planning of a physical exhibition and a community-based sign recovery campaign, actively involving local people in the process. The proposal aims to raise awareness about the importance of this graphic heritage and lay the foundations for a broader preservation and enhancement initiative.
Summary
In a world consumed by the frenetic pace of capitalism and its devastating consequences, both in social dynamics and in the ecological sphere, this research highlights worker cooperatives and/or non-profit cooperatives as an alternative business model that can accompany the eco-social transition to a more just, horizontal future that is connected to our eco-dependence and interdependence. Using a qualitative methodology, with a special focus on the ecofeminist and intersectional perspective, six interviews were conducted with the following Galician social and solidarity economy cooperatives, focused on social transformation and the eco-social vision: Outonía, Rexenerando, Alalá, Arabías, Feitoría Verde and 7H Cooperativa Cultural. By focusing on identifying their strategies and impacts on the communities and territories they affect, through a praxis far removed from the hegemonic system, we highlight references as inspiration for possible change.

Summary
This Master’s Thesis proposes the creation of a Classical Music Festival focused on the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion. The initiative aims to recover, disseminate, and highlight the shared musical heritage of both regions, from medieval cantigas to contemporary music, bringing visibility to lesser-known and often forgotten composers, while also promoting contemporary creation and fostering cultural, social, and academic ties between the two territories. In addition to concerts, the festival would feature lectures by specialists to contextualize and rediscover these composers. The project seeks to strengthen cultural and social bonds between Galicia and Northern Portugal, regions with a shared history, a common ancestral language, and a closely related cultural identity. Through the dissemination of their musical legacy, it aims to reinforce a sense of belonging, encourage cultural exchange, and stimulate new musicological research. Furthermore, the initiative is envisioned as a tool to promote cross-border cooperation and generate economic value through new cultural and commercial relationships. The work is structured in several phases: from a territorial analysis of the political context and the existing musical offerings in the Euroregion, to the conceptualization of the Festival in terms of programming, management, and outreach. The proposal seeks to offer an alternative within the regional cultural landscape and to democratize an intangible cultural asset such as academic music, ultimately becoming a sustainable cultural benchmark that combines tradition and innovation.

Summary
Professional music bands are ensembles that, operating under formal organizational structures, are composed of a stable group of professionals dedicated to performing concerts with a high level of interpretative demand. These bands play a key role as cultural, economic, and social drivers in Galicia, contributing to the promotion of musical heritage, the revitalization of culture, cultural tourism, and the development of stable and high-quality employment linked to the performing arts. This study explores Galician professional music bands from the perspective of cultural services, addressing their historical evolution up to the present day. In doing so, it will analyze public support policies, the training of performers, and the diversity of management models existing in Galicia, as well as the challenges these bands face, such as funding, generational renewal, and the diversification of musical offerings. This perspective will help clarify the differences between the management models applied in each organization, the situations that give rise to them, and their strengths and weaknesses, enabling a reflection on the future of these ensembles.

Summary
This TFM offers the first comparative analysis of the professional Spanish orchestras integrated into the AEOS. Drawing on institutional documents and official data, it examines governance, funding, programming, audiences and educational activities. The study confirms that most ensembles depend on public resources; that their repertoire remains dominated by the Classical-Romantic canon; and that initiatives to include contemporary works and highlight female composers are gaining ground. More than eighty percent of the orchestras run educational programmes, though with uneven levels of professionalisation. Key challenges include staff precariousness, audience renewal, digitalisation of offerings and diversification of income through sponsorship and social partnerships. The study concludes that the future sustainability of Spain’s orchestral system requires balancing patrimonial tradition, artistic innovation and civic engagement, thereby reinforcing its strategic role in the nation’s cultural cohesion.

Summary
This Master's Thesis will deal with the subject of the Pandereteiras de Mens, one of the first folk ensembles to bring traditional tambourine music to the main stages, since the figure of the “pandeireteiras” (tambourine-player women) is being honoured on the Day of Galician Letters in 2025. This coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Agrupación Folklórica Aturuxo from La Coruña, as well as the opening of the dossier to declare traditional Galician music and dance as Intangible Heritage of Cultural Interest by the Xunta de Galicia. The project of an exhibition will also be proposed, which will deal both with the Pandereteiras de Mens themselves as well as their trajectory alongside the mentioned group from La Coruña, in order to highlight their importance in maintaining and promoting Galician culture.

Summary
Throughout history, Costa Rica has been a host country for migrants. As a result, it presents significant cultural and linguistic diversity. Although research has been conducted on language attitudes in the country, much of it has been focused on the Central Valley and Guanacaste’s variety, overlooking varieties from other Latin-American countries. Given this context, this study aimed to analyze the attitudes held by Central Valley speakers have toward the Colombian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan varieties to propose a linguistic intervention. To achieve this, a literature review was conducted to contextualize the country’s cultural and linguistic diversity, and a questionnaire was administered to Costa Rican speakers of the Central Valley variety. Based on the results of both processes, a language intervention proposal was developed to promote education in linguistic diversity. Findings revealed that, although respondents expressed neutral evaluations to the varieties, there was a trend toward negative attitudes, particularly regarding social aspects and the Nicaraguan variety. Previous studies were confirmed in showing that Central Valley speakers demonstrate a high degree of linguistic loyalty and a strong sense of distinction from other speech communities. Moreover, certain identity-related traits of Costa Ricans were found to contribute to the development of negative attitudes. Finally, due to the findings, a language intervention in the form of a workshop was proposed for eight-grade secondary school students, with the goal of encouraging multicultural and linguistic diversity coexistence.

Summary
This study analyses the career of Regina Silveira and shows how her “expanded drawing” turns the line into a critical device capable of exposing power structures, from Southern-Cone dictatorships to the museum white cube. After positioning her within LatinAmerican conceptualism, institutional critique and performative feminism, it examines her reception in Spain through several key exhibitions) an essential record in the absence of a comprehensive monograph. The study culminates in a proposal for a First International Drawing Biennial in Santiago de Compostela, organised around six thematic strands and featuring a monographic gallery devoted to the artist, thereby asserting drawing as an autonomous, spatial and political language.
