Deadlines for requesting extensions

From 23 June to 7 July 2025
For students whose thesis submission deadline falls between 1 September 2025 and 31 January 2026.

From 15 November to 1 December 2025
For students whose thesis submission deadline falls between 1 February 2026 and 31 August 2026.

From 22 June to 6 July 2026
For students whose thesis submission deadline falls between 1 September 2026 and 31 January 2027.

 

Non-teaching periods

There will be non-teaching periods in August, on public holidays, and during other officially designated academic breaks.

The official academic breaks are as follows:

  1. Winter break: From 20 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 (both dates inclusive).
  2. Carnival: Monday and Tuesday, 16 and 17 February 2026.
  3. Easter break: From 30 March to 3 April 2026 (both dates inclusive).

The following days will be considered non-instructional: Friday, September 4, 2025, the official opening day of the 2025–2026 academic year; Friday, January 26, 2026, the feast day of Saint Thomas Aquinas; as well as the public holidays declared by the national government, the Autonomous Community, and, for each campus, the corresponding local holidays.

What This Does Not Affect

The deadline by which the PhD student must submit the thesis for processing. The official deadline indicated in the student’s academic file remains unchanged, regardless of whether the date falls on a teaching or non-teaching day.

What This Does Affect

The public display period of the thesis.
The date of the thesis defense.
