Work placements

External academic work placements are a training activity carried out by university students and supervised by the USC, which aim to allow them to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training.

Work placements encourage the acquisition of skills that prepare them for professional activities, facilitate employability and promote entrepreneurship.

In order to carry out the supervised work placements, the students must have passed:

  • The first three years of the degree (180 credits) if the work placement is to be done in the second semester.
  • The first three years of the degree (180 credits) and the compulsory subjects of the 4th year if the work placement is to be done in the 1st semester.

However, students who apply for a scholarship that requires them to be enrolled in all the subjects they have left to finish their studies may carry out a conditional enrolment in the common enrolment period. This conditional enrolment will only give the right to the supervised work placements if the requirements are met in time. If this is not done, the Academic Management Unit will automatically cancel the enrolment for this subject.
