General
1. To acquire skills for the development of instrumental and relevant learning: capacity for analysis, synthesis, organization and planning, problem solving, management and access to information, critical reasoning, autonomous learning and oral expression and writing.
2. To acquire skills related to the appreciation of the work of art: sensitivity to issues related to historical and cultural heritage, recognizing creativity, originality, transcendence and aesthetic values.
3. To develop skills to apply to the discipline of the History of Art the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), internet and its digital resources.
Specific
1. To acquire a systematic and integrated knowledge of artistic and construction techniques, with the ability to contextualize, analyze and differentiate each of them within their historical evolution, as well as their cultural and expresive particularities.
2. To distinguish and systematize the different tools, materials and procedures used in each of the artistic and construction techniques, knowing how to recognize them.
3. To know the vocabulary and fundamentals of specific language typical of the profession of art historian, applying it in oral expression and writing.
The teaching-learning methodology is theoretical-practical, resulting from the combination of:
1. Master classes: Attendance at classrooms is mandatory. The teacher will explain the theoretical contents using the lecture, relying on audiovisual material, in which the definition cards will be very important with which a virtual deck will be created.
2. Interactive sessions: Attendance at classrooms is mandatory. The student will carry out, after preparation at home, a paper about a technique assigned by the teacher, which must be exhibited in the classroom with an audiovisual presentation. In the Virtual Classroom will be available a Guide to prepare papers where the method to follow will be explained point by point
3. Virtual classroom activities: The teacher will propose through the virtual classroom a series of activities that the student must complete in which tests and other types of interactive content will be included (dialog cards, mix and match, drag and drop, fill in the blanks, image choice ...), always thinking about reviewing for the exam
4. Tutorials: The students will use the individual tutorials to solve the doubts that arise around everything related to the subject, as well as the processes of elaboration of the works and the letters, in which the teacher will guide the students individually according to the topics to be treated. A group tutorial is also contemplated at the end of the course to carry out a series of playful exercises of practice of the exam and solve all the doubts about the matter
5. Field practice: A field practice is contemplated in A Coruña, in coordination with the rest of the subjects and subject to financing by the Faculty
• The evaluation will be continuous. The final grade will be the result of the scores of the three evaluation instruments:
1. Exam: 60% percentage (6 points). It will consist of a questionnaire of multiple-choice questions. Results to be evaluated: Differentiation of artistic techniques and construction elements according to the criteria explained in the classrooms.
2. Interactive lessons: percentage of 30% at the rate of: Work presented in the classroom (1.5 points), Letters (0.5 points) and Attendance (1 point). Results to be evaluated: Work planning, search and management of information and sources, attractive and effective design of the presentation, correct oral expression, class attendance.
3. Virtual classroom activities: percentage of 10% (1 point) Results to be evaluated: Participation in proposed activities with a minimum score of 0.5 out of 1.
• To pass the subject with continuous evaluation it will be necessary to pass the three instruments separately with a minimum score of 5/10. The continuous evaluation will be lost due to non-attendance at interactive classes, and / or not delivering the work and activities of the virtual classroom in the established time. In this case it will be necessary to recover the suspended parts as follows:
- Failed exam: It will be considered failed if a minimum score of 3 points out of 6 (30 correct answers out of 60) is not reached. To pass it, the student must submit again to the exam marked in the extraordinary call of July.
- Failed interactive lessons: They will be considered failed if the student has an unjustified absence greater than 30% of the interactive (3 absences of 10 classes), and/or if she/he does not deliver and expose the work. To pass them, the exam of the ordinary call (May/June) will have a specific part consisting of questions about the content of the work presented by the colleagues.
• If on the date of the first call (May/June), the exam or the interactive lessons are failed, the student must attend the extraordinary call (June/July) only with the corresponding failed parts. The approved parts will be saved for the final note.
• If the student is exempt from attendance by granting a waiver, according to the criteria stipulated in the regulations of the USC (according to Instruction No. 1/2017 of the General Secretariat on the dispensation of class attendance in certain circumstances), she/he will be evaluated with a specific written exam that will represent 100% of the qualification.
Face-to-face: 51 hours (Master classes: 32 hours, Interactive lessons: 16 hours, Tutorials: 3 hours)
Non-face-to-face: 99 hours (Autonomous study: 55 hours, Preparation of papers, essays and activities: 44 hours)
Total: 150 hours
For a good follow-up of the subject, it is essential to be motivated and work capacity, attending the face-to-face sessions and fulfilling the non-face-to-face activities in the established times. We recommend that the student consult the bibliography proposed in the program, and that he attends the tutorials whenever he needs it. It is desirable that the student has basic computer skills regarding the design of audiovisual presentations.
- Attention to diversity: Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013 of November 29th, which approves the “Consolidated Text of the General Law on the rights of people with disabilities and their social inclusion”, published in the BOE (December the 3rd, 2013) will be applied.
- In the event of academic fraud, as defined in article 42 of the Regulations establishing the rules of coexistence of the University of Santiago de Compostela and in accordance with the provisions of article 11. g) of the Law on University Coexistence, the sanctions provided for in the regulations will be applied. Premeditated behaviors aimed at falsifying the results of an exam or assignment include plagiarism and the non-consensual use of Artificial Intelligence tools.
