Aunque no se exige ninguna formación previa específica, para el ingreso en el grado en Historia del Arte se recomienda que la formación del alumno sea de perfil humanístico (R.D. 1467/2007, BOE del 6 de noviembre, por el que se establece la estructura del bachillerato y se fijan las enseñanzas mínimas).

Cualidades deseables del futuro estudiante del grado de Historia del Arte:

- Sensibilidad estética.
- Percepción del devenir histórico.
- Capacidad de razonamiento lógico.
- Gusto por la lectura, la música y la contemplación de la obra de arte.
- Capacidad de relación de hechos históricos con su contexto actual.

1.- El alumnado de primer curso por primera vez a tiempo completo tienen que matricular 60 créditos. Un 15% del alumnado podrá cursar estudios a tiempo parcial (30 créditos).
2.- Continuación de estudios: libre con un máximo de 75 créditos

Se contempla una sesión informativa especial a cargo del equipo decanal el primer día del curso en la que se explican los detalles sobre el funcionamiento de la Facultad (aulas de informática, préstamo bibliotecario, salas de estudio…) y las orientaciones generales sobre el plan de estudios: normas de permanencia, exámenes, consejos sobre matrícula, convocatorias,… A esta sesión asistirá un representante del equipo rectoral que informará a los nuevos alumnos del funcionamiento de la Universidad en general y sobre todo de sus derechos y deberes. Esta sesión acaba con la asignación a cada grupo de diez alumnos, de un alumno-tutor que seguirá con ellos durante toda la tarde y les pondrá al corriente de la vida académico-universitaria.

La USC tiene un programa de alumnos tutores para las titulaciones de grao, de forma que alumnos de últimos cursos, despues de una formación que les facilita la Universidad, realizan tareas de orientación a los alumnos que inician los estudios.

En el segundo cuatrimestre de cada curso se prepara un grupo de alumnos de cuarto año para ser alumnos-tutores de los alumnos nuevos en el curso siguiente. El Curso de Tutores, impartido por personal cualificado, les pone al corriente en todo lo relacionado con la USC y con la forma de encauzar a los nuevos estudiantes. Su tutorización comienza el primer día del curso entrante y sigue durante todo el curso académico. Con este sistema se pretende tener una relación muy fluida dentro de la Facultad en todo lo referente a información y orientación.

Cuando se produzca la suspensión de un Título oficial, la USC garantiza el adecuado desarrollo efectivo de las enseñanzas que hubieran iniciado sus estudiantes hasta su finalización. Para ello, el Consejo de Gobierno aprueba los criterios relacionados, entre otros, con:
• La admisión de matrículas de nuevo ingreso en la titulación.
• La supresión gradual de la impartición de la docencia.
• Si el título extinguido es sustituido por otro similar (modificando la naturaleza del título), fija las condiciones que facilitan a los/las estudiantes la continuidad de estudios en el nuevo título y las equivalencias entre las materias de uno y otro plan.

Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to students with the following degrees/ diplomas or studies, or any other recognized as equivalent to these:
A.1. Spanish Bachiller, European Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate.
A.2. Baccalaureate from European Union Member States’ education systems or other countries withinternational agreements.
A.3. Advanced Technician in Vocational Training, Advanced Technician in Plastic Arts and Design orAdvanced Technician in Sports Education, from the Spanish Education System.
A.4.Studies carried out in European Union Member States or in other countries with international reciprocal agreements which meet the academic requirements in those States to access their university study programmes.
A.5. Official Spanish university degrees of Diplomado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico, Licenciado, Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Graduado or Máster Universitario.
A.6. Partial (foreign or Spanish) university studies.
Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is also possible for:
B.1. People over twenty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
B.2. People over forty with work or professional experience related to a university field of knowledge.
B.3. People over forty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
Likewise, access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to:
C.1. People meeting the requirements to enter university according to the Spanish Education System regulations prior to Ley Orgánica 8/2013, of December 9.

At present the Faculty of Geography and History has 18 classrooms for teaching. All rooms are equipped with computer resources and adapted to the specific characteristics required by the subjects taught. Within this area the centre has 3 computer rooms, with a total of 60 stations, it also has a cartography classroom (21 places) and two laboratories (1 laboratory for prehistoric techniques and another for geography and prehistory).

The school library is equipped with a considerable collection and has over 400 reading stations.

We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty.

1. To provide students critical and rational knowledge in art throughout history and its manifestations in different cultures and through the various artistic languages.
2. To prepare students in specific training in different fields, functions, and activities of the art historian.
3. To know the characteristics, functions, and the basic lines of the art in its different manifestations, along the historical discourse and within the framework of different cultures, as well as the root causes of those characteristics, functions and evolution, always incorporate the artwork with the social, economic, political, ideological, religious and individual context in which it was conceived connecting it with other forms of artistic expression and cultural manifestation.
4. To know different languages formal and visual, so like, the different artistic techniques used by mankind throughout history.
5. To know the theory of art and aesthetic thought in its historical course and within the different areas of cultural, social, economic, political, ideological, religious, which conditioned the speeches, aesthetics, function, the technical ye formal languages of art.
6 To know the sources, trends, artists and works most important and representative of the history of art in the context of different cultures.
7. To know and handling rigorous and set specific language and terminology of the different manifestations of art.
8. To learn about the different procedures of artistic creation and techniques of conservation, protection and dissemination of the Cultural heritage.

Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados, incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio;

Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio;

Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética;

Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado;

Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

1. To develop analytical and critical spirit of the student and their sensitivity to view, read and listen to music, audio, sound sculptures and works of art; that is used to interpret the language of forms.
2. To appreciate the aesthetic values and extracting information about the culture that produced them.
3. To develop a scientific methodology of history gives art.
4. To purchase, know and use other historiographical techniques for knowledge and appreciation of the work of art.
5. To learn autonomously new knowledge and techniques.
6. To create awareness of the need for training in interdisciplinary fields, in the domain of oral and written expression of their own language, in the use of other foreign languages, computer tools and the use of networks that allow the establishment of national and international contacts.

- Proponer, analizar, validar e interpretar modelos de situaciones reales sencillas utilizando herramientas historiográficas.
- Aprender a desarrollar una metodología científica para cualquier tipo de actuación y de decisión en relación con conocimientos de Historia del Arte.
- Adquirir habilidades en el manejo de las nuevas tecnologías como medio para el estudio e difusión de la obra de arte.
- Diseñar un proyecto integral de gestión del bien artístico, desde su conocimiento hasta su explotación social.
- Implicarse en la actividad profesional y el compromiso con la sociedad en todo lo referente a la defensa y conservación del Patrimonio Cultural.
- Tomar conciencia de la importancia de desarrollar la capacidad de iniciativa y autocrítica.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa):

Los alumnos podrán obtener hasta 6 créditos por la realización de prácticas en empresas optativas.

Se podrá realizar una vez superados los 180 créditos obligatorios. En el momento de la presentación del trabajo el alumno deberá tener superado todos los demás créditos necesarios para el título de grado, esto es, por lo menos 228 ECTS. Para no atrasar la graduación de los estudiantes que reúnan los requisitos, la Facultad ofertará trabajos de Fin de Grado para a su realización en ambos cuatrimestres.
