· Use the terminology of this language in a rigorous and precise way.
· Develop the ability to interpret any audiovisual content from a critical and analytical perspective.

· Know how to identify the elements of film language.
· Understand, analyse and interpret the meaning of a film from a semiotic and discursive perspective.
· Build lines of argument from a critical and analytical perspective through oral, written and even film language.
· Acquire skills in the management of film language as a means for the creation, study and dissemination of works of art.
· Master film language before studying other couses related to the history of film.
Students must prepare this subject by means of the materials of the 2023-2024 course, which are available on the virtual campus.
FIRST CHANCE
· A written essay on one of the films shown in class that explicitly identifies and interprets different elements of film language. Length: 1500-2000 words. Percentage in the final mark: 30% (3 points)
· A short film that consciously uses several elements of film language. Running time: 1-2 minutes. Percentage in the final mark: 30% (3 points).
· A final exam. Percentage in the final mark: 40% (4 points).
SECOND CHANDE
This mark will be achieved from an individual written essay and an exam similar to those of the first opportunity.
In cases of plagiarism or fraud in the exams, the dispositions established in the Regulations for the evaluation of academic performance will be enforced.
3 hours a week for studying the subject and preparing its assignments.
Explore the materials of the 2023-24 course, as well as the handbooks and the selected bibliography in order to practice film analysis and a conscious use of film language.
