The various lines of study open to those enrolling on the Master’s degree in Literature and Cultural Studies constitute a comprehensive training in a number of areas, ranging from literary and cultural studies in various languages, to tools for dealing with literary texts, and the emerging field of cultural industries.

Tradition, modernity and diversity exist side-by-side in a program of study that takes literature and culture as a gateway between the university and the outside world.

Itinerario A: Edición, estudio e historia de los textos literarios
Itinerario B: Estudios teóricos y comparados de la literatura y de la cultura

Para la realización del itinerario A el alumno/a deberá cursar obligatoriamente las materias vinculadas:
Estudio y edición de textos hasta el siglo XVII
Estudio y edición de textos desde el siglo XVIII
Y además deberá elegir 15 ECTS del módulo de optativas de ese itinerario.

Para la realización del itinerario B el alumno/a deberá cursar obligatoriamente las materias vinculadas:
Transferencias literarias y culturales (3ECTS)
Teorías contemporáneas de la literatura y de la cultura (3ECTS)

El coordinador del programa facilitará a los alumnos orientación acerca de los contenidos de las materias, de los procesos administrativos y de los cauces de información disponibles.
Asimismo, el coordinador se encargará del asesoramiento acerca de las materias que debe elegir el alumno teniendo en cuenta el tema (obra, época, autor) y el tema y posibles directores de
su TFM.
Está previsto el cambio de director del TFM, que deberá ser aprobado por la Comisión Académica.
Están previstos los siguientes mecanismos de interacción:
1. Seminarios: la proporción de créditos interactivos que corresponde a cada materia hace obligada una presencialidad participativa por parte del alumno.
2. Sesiones de tutoría: la atención a grupos reducidos permiten personalizar la docencia.
3. Dirección de TFM: el alumno mantendrá un contacto permanente con el profesor encargado de la dirección de su TFM, que será objeto de un seguimiento continuado en sus
diferentes fases.
4. Otras actividades: podrían organizarse actividades extra-académicas (asistencia a conferencias y congresos, a obras de teatro o a conciertos; visitas a museos o bibliotecas), como
complemento formativo.
5. Interactuación de alumnos: entre los alumnos se realizan actividades colectivas que permiten el intercambio de información, ideas y métodos de trabajo, durante el desarrollo de los
cursos y la preparación del TFM. El principal mecanismo, en los cursos, consiste en proponer actividades en grupo, que comportan un reparto de tareas, discusión de aportaciones y puesta en
común de conclusiones.
6. Evaluación: aunque la USC dispone de un sistema oficial de evaluación de los resultados, el propio programa dispondrá en su página web de una sección dedicada a este fin.
Al finalizar cada año académico se solicitará a los alumnos que cubran este cuestionario, cuyos resultados serán analizados por la Comisión Académica y el profesorado del máster. Los
profesores disponen de un cuestionario similar, que en este caso sirve de mecanismo de autoevaluación del programa.
7. Interacción y coordinación del profesorado: a lo largo del curso se celebrarán diversas reuniones de profesores, o de la comisión que represente a todo el profesorado del programa,
con los siguientes cometidos: garantizar la coherencia de los programas, del desarrollo del curso y de los criterios de admisión y evaluación de alumnos; comprobar la coherencia y adecuación
de la carga de trabajo exigido al alumno; determinar las características (nivel, contenidos, extensión, forma de presentación y defensa) del TFM; llevar un seguimiento personalizado de cada
alumno, para resolver todos los problemas de tipo académico o individual que puedan surgir, con independencia de la atención proporcionada por su particular tutor.

Access

Para acceder aos ensinos oficiais de Máster será necesario estar en posesión de:
A.1. Un título universitario oficial español.
A.2. Un título expedido por unha institución de educación superior pertencente a outro Estado integrante do Espazo Europeo de Educación Superior que faculte no mesmo para o acceso a ensinos de Máster.
A.3. Un título pertencente a un sistema educativo alleo ao Espazo Europeo de Educación, previa comprobación pola Universidade de que o citado título acredita un nivel de formación equivalente aos correspondentes títulos universitarios oficiais españois e faculta no país expedidor do título para o acceso a ensinos de posgrao.
A.4. Un título superior das Ensinanzas Artísticas Superiores do sistema educativo español.

- Ability to apply the historical-philological, rhetorical and bibliographical knowledge necessary for the publication of literature.
- Ability to apply the various tools of the methodology of text criticism.
- Ability to understand literary phenomena from a comparative perspective in relation to particular historiographical and geocultural contexts.
- Ability to approach the concept of text and textuality in an open way, where other cultural forms, not strictly literary, have space, taking into account the different arts and the irruption of new media.
- Mastery of the different techniques for the elaboration of a research work in the literary and cultural field.

- Capacidad para aplicar los conocimientos histórico-filológicos, retóricos y bibliográficos necesarios para la edición de la literatura.
- Capacidad para aplicar las distintas herramientas de la metodología de la crítica textual.
- Capacidad para comprender los fenómenos literarios desde una perspectiva comparada en relación con los particulares contextos historiográficos y geoculturales.
- Capacidad para abordar el concepto de texto y textualidad de un modo abierto, donde tienen espacio otras formas culturales, no estritamente literarias, atendiendo a las distintas artes y la irrupción de los nuevos medios.
- Dominio de las distintas técnicas de elaboración de un trabajo de investigación en el ámbito literario y cultural.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa): Portal Internacional

Internships

El alumnado podrá realizar prácticas en empresas, instituciones y fundacións que le permitirán conseguir competencias profesionales y aplicar muchos de los conocimientos adquiridos en los cursos del máster.

Los estudiantes realizarán y defenderán un Trabajo Fin de Máster (15 ECTS). Tendrán la oportunidad de elegir con flexibilidad tema y tutor/a gracias a la amplia y variada trayectoria académica e investigadora del profesorado implicado en el título.

The teaching staff consists of lecturers from different departments of the University of Santiago de Compostela, with extensive and varied teaching and research experience. Furthermore, prominent lecturers from other universities will also contribute.
