The master's is taught with the following objectives:

  • To provide solid specialised training in critical thinking regarding world knowledge and understanding and citizenship and globalisation.
  • To locate this training in the group of humanistic knowledge, natural sciences, technologies and social sciences; in the corporate, institutional and cultural fabric, as well as in the social practice of the contemporary world.
  • To familiarise students with research techniques and requirements, as this master's qualifies to access the PhD.

No se contemplan mencións nin especialidades, porén, o máster prevé dos itinerarios de los que el alumno debe elegir uno obligatoriamente. El itinerario cursado no figurará en el título obtenido, aunque sí en el SET:

1º Conocimiento y comprensión del mundo
2º Ciudadanía y globalización

El módulo correspondiente al itinerario 1, denominado Conocimiento y Comprensión del Mundo, persigue ocuparse de problemas actuales relacionados con nuestro mundo, cómo recabamos información de ese entorno y cómo emitimos información que repercute en el mismo, qué tipos de conocimientos obtenemos del mismo, especialmente a través de la ciencia y las humanidades, y cómo y con qué repercusiones lo modificamos con los desarrollos tecnológicos.

El módulo correspondiente al itinerario 2, con el título Ciudadanía y Globalización, se orienta a los problemas relacionados con el papel de los humanos en sociedades cambiantes en las que hay que conciliar la diversidad étnica y en general cultural con el nuevo fenómeno de la globalización. En este orden de cosas reciben una especial atención la problemática de género y la de las identidades culturales.

Los alumnos deben cursar exclusivamente las asignaturas vinculadas al itinerario elegido (no pueden cursar las materias del otro itinerario).

1) Siguiendo el modelo implantado con éxito en la titulación de Grado de Filosofía, se le asignará a cada alumno/a un/a tutor/a personalizado que se encarga de velar y aconsejar sobre su progresión en los estudios y en sus primeras experiencias investigadoras.

a) Se planifican, al principio de curso, como mínimo dos entrevistas (una por cuatrimestre) con su profesor-tutor, al que le informa de su grado de satisfacción académica y de cualquier otro aspecto relativo a sus nuevos estudios de postgrado.
b) La entrevista del segundo cuatrimestre sirve para hacer balance del curso y también para preparar la investigación doctoral.
c) La tutorización comienza el primer día del curso y prosigue durante todo el curso académico. Con este sistema, puesto en práctica desde hace más de cinco años en los estudios de Licenciatura, se pretende tener una relación muy próxima con el/la alumno/a para que tenga la máxima información y disponga de la orientación que precise

2) Tutorías presenciales (en sede física –despacho- o por videoconferencia).

Los alumnos podrán tener tutorías presenciales en sede física o por videoconferencia (dado que parte de los docentes no tiene su lugar de trabajo en Compostela). Para ello los alumnos dispondrán de un horario de tutorías de todos los profesores por semestre y el modo de acceso al profesor.

3) Tutorías por vía telemática.

Cada alumno posee una clave de acceso personalizada para incorporarse a la denominada USC virtual, plataforma de enseñanza a distancia de la Universidad, en la que podrá realizar todo tipo de consultas académicas, así como mantener un información actualizada sobre la dinámica del curso y materiales disponibles.

Para acceder aos ensinos oficiais de Máster será necesario estar en posesión de:
A.1. Un título universitario oficial español.
A.2. Un título expedido por unha institución de educación superior pertencente a outro Estado integrante do Espazo Europeo de Educación Superior que faculte no mesmo para o acceso a ensinos de Máster.
A.3. Un título pertencente a un sistema educativo alleo ao Espazo Europeo de Educación, previa comprobación pola Universidade de que o citado título acredita un nivel de formación equivalente aos correspondentes títulos universitarios oficiais españois e faculta no país expedidor do título para o acceso a ensinos de posgrao.
A.4. Un título superior das Ensinanzas Artísticas Superiores do sistema educativo español.

De non poseer alguno de los títulos, la USC les realizará una prueba de nivel y, de no superarla, deberán asistir a un curso intensivo de gallego o español en el primer semestre hasta alcanzar el nivel requerido

El máster contempla un trabajo fin de máster de 15 créditos. Debe ser un trabajo original en el que se acrediten las destrezas y los conocimientos adquiridos durante los estudios realizados en la titulación.

Entre las peculiaridades del Máster para facilitar la realización de un TFM de calidad está la inclusión de una materia, en el módulo de formación básica, en el que adquieran competencias técnicas para la realización de trabajos de investigación, entendiendo que el TFM debe ser un trabajo de introducción a la investigación.
