This master’s degree aims to train specialists in planning and managing the territory from a multiscale perspective, covering urban, rural, peri-urban and natural spaces. Its objective is to transmit the skills necessary for graduates to be able to lead work teams for spatial planning and urbanism. This involves the preparation of planning documents (binding or indicative) and the design of participatory processes along the lines of territorial development. It is based on a multidisciplinary approach and pays special attention to the sustainability of the territory in its environmental, economic and socio-cultural dimensions.

Although three different specialities are offered, the multidisciplinary approach is guaranteed with the compulsory subjects of the first semester. It also has a dual orientation towards the professional activity of graduates and research activity through access to several doctoral programmes.
The teaching is face-to-face and takes place simultaneously via videoconference in two centers: the Faculty of Geography and History (Santiago de Compostela) and the School of Engineering (Lugo).
