The Master's in Health Care and Management aims to train professionals to act in situations of health and environmental emergencies, and to provide specialised supportive care in the field of critical care units, in addition to training them in the field of health management.

In this sense, it aims to offer students an interdisciplinary vision of care in the areas described through knowledge of the theoretical formulations and contemporary lines of research, but mostly through practical training activity.

In the clinical speciality the practical training activity is carried out by:

  • Pre-practicum in basic and advanced simulation techniques (simulation classrooms of Faculty of Nursing.
  • External internships in care units of Health Emergencies Public Foundation of Galicia – 061 and the internships in urgencies, intensive and critical care units of the hospitals of Galician Health Service (SERGAS), set out in the collaboration agreement between USC and Xunta de Galicia.

In the management speciality the practical training activity is carried out by external internships in management units of Galician Health Service (SERGAS) set out in the collaboration agreement between USC and Xunta de Galicia.

Cada alumno del postgrado tendrá asignado un tutor en el ámbito de la docencia clínica y teórica que realizará el seguimiento del alumno/a con tutorías personalizadas. Al alumno/a se le proporcionarán todos los instrumentos TIC para el seguimiento y aprendizaje autónomo.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa): Portal Internacional

Internships

Las prácticas externas de este máster son fundamentalmente prácticas clínicas. Se garantiza la realización de estas prácticas mediante convenios con los distintos organismos implicados en la docencia (SERGAS, 061, y hospitales privados interesados en la formación de profesionales sanitarios). Se garantiza el seguimiento de estas prácticas asignando a cada alumno/a un tutor en cada centro implicado en la docencia
clínica. Cada alumno/a deberá realizar una rotación por los distintos aspectos clínicos del máster (Urgencias, UVI móbil, UCI adultos, UCI pediátrica y Unidad de Cuidados Coronarios..)

Se trata de trabajos de investigación sobre un aspectos del máster que deberá ser tutelado. Cada alumno tendrá un tutor que será profesor del máster para la realización de su proyecto.

The Master’s teaching staff consists of lecturers from different departments of the University and external lecturers, mostly from the Health Sciences area, with extensive teaching and research experience.
