BASICS AND GENERAL
CB7 - That students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study
CB8 - That students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments
CB10 - That students have the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.
TRANSVERSALS
CT1 - Participate in debates and discussions, direct and coordinate them and be able to summarize them and draw from them the most relevant and accepted conclusions by the majority.
CT2 - Use the different techniques of oral, written, presentations, panels, etc., to communicate their knowledge, proposals and positions.
CT3 - Develop critical, self-critical and decision-making capacity.
CT4 - Ability to handle Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
CT5 - Ability to reflect from different perspectives of knowledge.
SPECIFIC
CE1 - Acquire specific criteria for clinical action to specialize the student in the different clinical fields of visual attention: pediatric optometry, geriatric optometry, visual therapies, low vision, ocular surface and contact lenses.
CE7 - Acquire knowledge and skills from different perspectives of knowledge in Vision Sciences
Theoretical content activity: Virtual teaching in which the contents of the theoretical program, clinical cases, and / or general examples will be made available to students in different presentation formats that may be accompanied by audio and / or explanatory video in an environment on-line.
Interactive activity: seminars / practices / laboratory / work. The realization of practices is included here. The student must prepare the development of the activity with the teacher's help and carry out measurements and corresponding data analysis.
Interactive Activity: Clinical practice. The realization of clinical practices in very reduced modules is included here.
Tutorials: Personalized and small group tutorials through Teams
EVALUATION OF THEORETICAL CONTENT AND SEMINARS
Continuous assessment. - Effort and progress in learning will be valued.
3 points; resolution of real geriatric clinical cases (study, assessment and decision making). Competencies rubric assessment
3 points; Reading and understanding of 3 papers (novel research on the subject), students will make a final summary and solve questions that are formulated on the topics on the moodle platform. Rubric competency evaluation.
2 points; group research work of interest to students. assessment rubric competencies
2 points; clinical evaluation to the seniors in nursing homes, fundations, aging centers. Evaluation by rubric
For cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests, the provisions set forth in the "Regulations for evaluating the academic performance of students and reviewing grades" will apply.
A dedication of 20 hours for theoretical knowledge of matter should be sufficient, in order to obtain positive results in it.
The use of bibliography and specific platforms of the subject will require a use of the networks of 20 h.
Conocimiento de los principales handicaps de la persona mayor así como conocimientos de fisiología- farmacología general ayudarán al desarrollo de algún tema de esta materia.
