The aim of this master’s degree is to train professionals who are able to act in situations of health and environmental emergencies, health emergencies and to provide specialised support care in the field of critical care units, as well as to train them in the field of health management.

Students must study one of the following specialisations:
- Clinical Speciality
- Management Speciality

All students are required to undertake the Common Module and to complete the Master's Dissertation. It is not possible to obtain the master's degree without undertaking a speciality.
Should students opt for the Clinical Speciality, they will be required to complete the pertinent subjects (Emergencies, Emergencies and Major Catastrophes and Critical Patient Management), in addition to the Clinical Speciality Internship. Furthermore, students are required to enrol in one of the subjects with common optional credits offered.
Students opting for the Management Speciality must successfully complete the following credits: Healthcare Management, Healthcare Systems, Health Economics, Healthcare Quality, Teaching Approaches and e-Health.

Cada alumno del postgrado tendrá asignado un tutor en el ámbito de la docencia clínica y teórica que realizará el seguimiento del alumno/a con tutorías personalizadas. Al alumno/a se le proporcionarán todos los instrumentos TIC para el seguimiento y aprendizaje autónomo.

Admission

In accordance with the admission and enrolment modalities established by the USC, the modality of this master’s degree will be a master’s degree with general selection criteria. In accordance with this modality, applications will be ranked in the same order of priority according to the average grade of the academic transcript.
Access to the master`s degrees

Main training objectives of the degree:
- To develop competences and skills for interdisciplinary work, taking into account the specific nature of the field of health care and management in which knowledge of nursing, medicine, law, economics, etc. is integrated.
- To encourage the development of research, innovation and knowledge transfer skills in response to changes in both the current health care model and the demands and needs of the population.
- Based on these aspects, we believe that it is possible to contribute to innovation in the field of health care and management in the following areas:
a. product (new or improved user services)
b. process (adoption of significantly improved methods or procedures or continuous improvement)
c. organisational (new forms of organisation and management with the aim of improving productivity, efficiency and quality of health care services)
d. market (strategic positioning of the product or service, increasing its visibility, promoting differentiation and better understanding of its scope and impact)
Training objectives of mentions or specialities:
- Clinical speciality: To train professionals with the competences and skills to act in emergency situations and health emergencies and to provide specialised care and support in the field of critical care units.
- Management speciality: To train professionals with the competences and skills to interpret the dynamics and paradigms involved in the transformation of health management and to develop more innovative strategies, based on quality and user-centred care, that address organisational challenges.

- In the Teaching Development Process established in the Centre’s SGIC, the procedure for the organisation of mobility is developed.
- The Master’s Degree in Health Care, Management and Care will promote student mobility in accordance with the mobility calls established by the USC.

Internships

The external internships correspond to the compulsory subject of the common module (9 credits) and the optional subject of the speciality in clinic (9 credits).

The Master’s dissertation will be carried out within the framework of a line of research related to the subjects of the degree. The Master’s Dissertation aims to develop a research work, literature review or an intervention project through the integration of the knowledge and skills acquired during the Master’s degree and must be an original and unpublished work.
