BASIC AND GENERAL
CG3 - Assess the responsibility in the management of information and knowledge in the field of Industrial Chemistry andChemical ResearchCG4 - Demonstrate ability to analyze, describe, organize, plan and manage projectsCG5 - Use scientific terminology in English to argue the experimental results in the context of thechemical professionCG6 - Apply correctly the new technologies of capture and organization of information to solve problems in the professional activityCG8 - Assess the human, economic, legal and technical dimension in professional practice, as well as the impact of chemistry on the environment and on the sustainable development of society.CB7 - That students know how to apply the knowledge acquired and their ability to solve problems in environmentsnew or little known within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of studyCB8 - That students be able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of making judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgmentsCB9 - That students know how to communicate their conclusions and the latest knowledge and reasons that support them to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous wayCB10 - That students have the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.
TRANSVERSAL
CT1 - Prepare, write and publicly defend scientific and technical reports.CT2 - Work in a team and adapt to multidisciplinary teams.CT3 - Work autonomously and efficiently in the daily practice of research or professional activity.SPECIFICCE3 - Apply materials and biomolecules in innovative fields of industry and chemical engineeringCE4 - Innovate in the methods of synthesis and chemical analysis related to the different areas of ChemistryCE10 Plan and manage the available resources of a company, laboratory, or administration taking into account the basic principles of quality, risk prevention and sustainability.CE11- Know the environmental impact of industrial chemical processes, as well as current ways to minimize them including traceability and treatment of waste generated
Lectures: face-to-face master classes in the classroom, encouraging student intervention.
Interactive classes:
- Seminars: mainly face-to-face; dedicated to the work of the student under the tutelage of the professor, to study in detail important aspects of the subject, and for the resolution of practical cases, problems and questions.
- Tutorials: for the follow-up of the group work carried out by the students and the personalized follow-up of the student; of a compulsory nature, they will be face to face in the classroom or online, using the virtual platforms available at USC and by e-mail.
- Technical visits: a technical visit related to the subject is contemplated if possible.
- Conferences: Special speakers will be invited, if applicable.
The evaluation of the competencies acquired in the subject will be carried out in the following ways:
• examination
• Elaboration of proposed works.
• Attendance and participation.
Evaluation criteria and instruments:
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject: the evaluation will be done through an exam, which will be awarded 60% of the final grade.
• Elaboration of proposed works: the evaluation will be based on the originality and personal contributions of the student, corresponding to him 30% of the final note.
• Attendance (face-to-face or non-face-to-face) and participation: corresponds to 10% of the final grade.
The final grade will be obtained as a weighted average of the three aspects to be evaluated.
The evaluation in the second opportunity will be based on the qualification of the examination and of the works (that will have to present during the course), and the assistance and participation, with the same weighting that in the first opportunity.
The fraudulent performance of any exercise or test required in the evaluation of a subject will imply the qualification of failure in the corresponding call, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be followed against the offending student. It is considered fraudulent, among others, the performance of plagiarized work or work obtained from sources accessible to the public without reworking or reinterpretation and without citation of the authors and sources.
Competency assessment
• Review: CG3, CB8, CB9, CE3, CE4, CE11
• Development of proposed work: CG4, CB7, CB8, CB10, CT3, CE10
• Tutorials: CG6, CG8, CT1, CT2
