The general aims of this matter are that the student:
1. Understand and dominate the tools of the economic analysis that allow him to come closer the functioning of the macroeconomic models of the labor market and the local markets of work.
2. Be able to recognize the macroeconomic economic aspects of the labor relations and analyze them from a perspective of economic theory.
They are basic contents of the subject:
- Employment and unemployment (theoretical introduction and its evolution in Spain in recent years).
- The role of the government in the labor market. Fiscal policy (income and expenditure). Income policies.
- The financing of the Social Security in Spain, its impact on the determination of the basic variables of the labor market. The effects of demographic change.
- Economic effects of the discrimination on the labor market (age, sex, origin of the worker).
- Territorial aspects of the labor market. Local job markets.
- Practical review of the main databases related to the labor market.
Based on these basic contents, the PROGRAM is developed as follows:
- Labor productivity.
- Employment and unemployment (theoretical view).
- The aggregate supply and demand. The role of the government in the labor market. The fiscal policy (income and expenditure). Income policies. The incidence of Social Security.
- Economic effects of the discrimination on the labor market (age, sex, origin of the worker).
- Territorial aspects of the labor market. Local job markets.
- Practical review of the main databases related to the labor market.

Generic:
G1. To acquire a wide knowledge of the basic institutions of the sociolabor area specially of the Labour law and of the Social Security.
G2. To develop the knowledge, skills and aptitudes that allow a suitable direction and labor management.
G3. To be able to recognize the economic aspects of the Social Security and of the Labor Relations.
G4. To develop the capacity of organization, planning and capture of decisions.
Basic:
B1. To possess and to understand knowledge that contribute a base or opportunity to be original in the development and / or application of ideas, often in a context of investigation;
B2. That the students can apply the acquired knowledge and his capacity of resolution of problems in environments new or little known inside more wide contexts (or multidisciplinary) related to his area of study;
B3. That the students are capable of integrating knowledge and to face the complexity of formulating judgments from an information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social responsibilities and ethics linked to the application of his knowledge and judgments;
B4. That the students can communicate his conclusions (and the knowledge and last reasons that sustain them) to public specialized and not specialized in a clear way and without ambiguities;
B5. That the students possess the skills of learning that allow them to continue studying of a way that will will to be to a great extent self-guided or autonomous.
The educational methodology will include:
- Explanatory teaching, where they will appear the teacher puts the knowledge that the students must acquire.
- Interactive teaching, where there will be tried that the students connect the basic concepts before explained in the classes with the reality of the labor market, for which the appeared news will use us different mass media, they will be employed with the databases, and, at his case, will do exhibitions on topics related to the contents of the matter and will realize exercises or comments of text related to the same one.
Regarding the tutorials, the students will be able to permanently contact the teacher via email and, by appointment, arrange a meeting (preferably individual) in the teacher's office or in Teams.
In the evaluation of the matter it will be considered to be the assistance, the interest demonstrated by the subject, the accomplishment of works and the participation activates in class with a maximum of 3 points.
A final examination will be realized by a maximum punctuation of 7 points.
The qualification of a summons in which the student does not appear or overcomes the established aims will be of suspense, except that the student does not realize any academic activity evaluable in conformity with the established one in the programming or educational guide, in that it will consist like not presented.
In cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the one set forth in the Regulations for the evaluation of student academic performance and the review of grades will be applied.
Provided that the effort of the student treats itself about a matter of 3 credits to overcome successfully the matter it should reach 75 working hours, of which 12 would correspond to the classes of explanatory teaching and 9 to the classes of interactive teaching, distributing 54 remaining hours between time of study, the assistance to titorías, accomplishment of the works and exercises, preparation of the examinations and accomplishment of the same ones.
It is important that the student has the matter overcome the program of Labor Economy of fourth course of the Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources or the same matter in the Diplomatura of Labor Relations. There is presupposed that the students already it knows the basic notions of economy. To advance adequately in the learning of the matter is essential that the students acquire a pace of constant work and that they combine the study of the theory with the solution of practical exercises.
