The aim of the Practical Training is to supplement the training received, by applying the acquired knowledge in the professional and/or research development.
The training internship may have a professional or a research orientation. Students can carry out the stay in a company, public organism, university, research centre, or technology centre that have a cooperation agreement signed with the USC in the context of the Master’s degree, or in a research group of the USC. An external tutor will be designated in addition to a teacher-tutor of the Master’s degree.

- Basic and general skills: CB6, CB7, CB8, CB9, CG1, CG3, CG7, CG8, CG13.
- Specific skills: CE1, CE2, CE3, CE4, CE8, CE12.
- Transferable skills: CT1, CT2, CT5.
The methodology will depend on the activities proposed in the collaborating centres, but it should ensure the acquisition of all the skills assigned to this course: CB6, CB7, CB8, CB9, CG1 CG3, CG7, CG8, CG13, CE1, CE2, CE3, CE4, CE8, CE12, CT1, CT2, CT5.
The external and USC tutors will evaluate the basic, general, specific, and transferable skills described in the section “Competence”.
Upon the conclusion of the training internship in the company/institution, the external tutor must submit a certificate of the activities undertaken by the student, together with a mark that will account for 40 % of the final mark (CB6, CB7, CG3, CG7, CG8, CG13, CE1, CE2, CE3, CE4, CE8, CE12, CT1, CT2, CT5).
After the end of the training internship, the student must prepare a report with the activities undertaken during such internship, and send it to the USC tutor. This tutor will evaluate and grade this report, that accounts for 60 % of the final mark (CB8, CB9, GG1).
The course has a workload of 12 ECTS, equivalent to 300 h of total work. The distribution is as follows:
