Health

In Spain, medical coverage is universal and free of charge for all persons living in the country, through the hospitals and services managed by each autonomous community. In turn, the USC has monitoring and risk prevention services to ensure the health of its personnel.

The USC offers its employees (PDI and PAS) a Health Monitoring Department and a Risk Prevention Service, which manages medical check-ups, prevention plans and contingencies such as accidents at work or pregnancy leave. In addition, Galicia has a network of 14 public hospitals, spread over its four provinces, complemented by a score of privately owned hospitals.

In Santiago de Compostela, the public centre of reference is the University Hospital Complex of Santiago de Compostela (CHUS), and in Lugo, the University Hospital Complex of Lugo (CHUL).
