Transport

Santiago de Compostela and Lugo, where the USC campuses are located, are well connected by road and train with the provincial capitals and major cities of Galicia and Spain and, through Santiago airport, with several European capitals.

Galicia has a network of public and privately managed motorways linking all the Galician provincial capitals - A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra - with each other and with the main cities of the region, such as Santiago de Compostela, El Ferrol and Vigo, and connecting it with the Spanish and Portuguese motorway network.

Santiago also has a high-speed train connection (Alvia) with Madrid and Barcelona, and the Santiago-Rosalía de Castro airport is served by eight companies, with direct flights to Spanish cities (Alicante, Almería, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Madrid and Málaga) and European capitals (Basel, Bologna, Frankfurt, Geneva, London and Paris). Santiago airport is one and a half hours from Lugo by road and three hours by train.

Santiago de Compostela and Lugo are cities of moderate size, where many tours can be undertaken by foot, but they also have good public transport networks through buses.
