The Asociación Down Lugo is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to contribute to improving the quality of life of people with Down syndrome (DS) and, in general, with intellectual disabilities (ID), through full and effective inclusion in society, assuming the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
It offers a response to the training, relationship and social participation needs of adults with Down's syndrome and other intellectual disabilities in inclusive settings, such as the University.
This project carries out activities with an inclusive approach that favours social participation and interpersonal relations within the university environment.
Different conversation workshops are carried out as a strategy for the development of a selection of topics related to Down Lugo's Independent Living programme.
Young people with Down's Syndrome (DS) and/or intellectual disabilities, university students and teaching staff from the Degree in Nursing, the Degree in Cultural Sciences and Cultural Dissemination and the Degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources.
The project runs from October 2023 to February 2024
