The Asociación de Dano Cerebral de Compostela Sarela is a non-profit organisation founded in December 2000 by relatives and people with acquired brain injury (ABI).
Sarela 's main goals are to promote the joint defence of the rights of people with ABI and their families, their integration and social normalisation, and their care, assistance and protection.

Leisure
Leisure is a fundamental part of people's lives, so users can choose and manage their leisure activities according to their personal choice and interests, in groups or individually. Taking into account their abilities, some users need the support of a third person to prepare the activity and even to be able to carry it out.
The leisure activities in the afternoons are diverse, as they depend on the tastes and preferences of the user. Some examples are the following:
- Game of cards, dominoes... : a support could be the placement of the material, and support in the game (help to move the pieces, deal them...).
- Cinema: support in choosing the film, preparation of the room, explanation of the plot ....
- Walks around the area: support in any outings that take place in the vicinity of the service.

ICT'S new technologies
New technologies are essential for our daily life, as they are becoming more and more present. They try that all the people, taking into account their capacities, can use the new technologies to improve their day, so they are helped in the following ways:
- Administrative procedures.
- Use of different applications.
- Use of different devices: tablet, mobile phone, computer, etc.
- Timetable: Tuesdays, from 15:45 to 17:15 h.

Cooking workshop
Knowing how to cook is an important skill for gaining autonomy and can also become an activity that can be enjoyed alone or in company. The volunteer will provide support to people with ACD so that they are able to participate in the preparation of the chosen recipe.

Adapted physical activity
Physical activity is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially for people with disabilities and mobility problems.

Creatively
In this activity we work with people with DCA in the occupational area. The volunteer who has knowledge or interest in collaborating in activities such as:
- Painting, Sewing, etc.
- Bookbinding
- Bricolage
- Timetable: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10 to 11:15 a.m.

Information, Guidance and Support Service for Families
Stroke campaign
This is a monthly campaign in which they raise awareness in health centres in the city of Santiago.
The volunteer will accompany the users of the different services of the organisation to raise awareness:
- Pass out questionnaires on stroke.
- Give information on the causes, sequelae and warning signs of stroke.
- Timetable: last Wednesday of each month, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Outings in the community environment
Outings in the community environment are part of the activities carried out in the different services offered by the entity. The outings that are carried out have different themes, from physical, cultural, leisure... but always with the same aim, which is the social inclusion of people with Acquired Cerebral Damage (ACD) and the enjoyment of the community resources that we have within our reach as citizens, from a park, the cinema, a bar or a museum.
