With the aim of promoting the internationalisation of the University’s teaching activities, the Vice-rectory of Students and Culture approves this announcement
Applicants
Students taking part in international mobility programs who have been admitted to USC courses for the academic year 2024-2025, may request accommodation places in the University Halls of Residence Service (SUR).
Exceptionally, SICUE exchange students who need accommodation only during the first semester or only during the second semester may apply for a place. Students who wish to be accommodated for the entire academic year must apply through the regular SUR Call for accommodation places.
Avaliable places
A total of 100 places are available.
The accommodation will be in single rooms. All places are offered on the basis of accommodation only, no meals included

Deadline
The period for the presentation of applications is from the date of publication of this announcement until all the places are filled
The charges cover accommodation only, and the total cost of the stay will be as follows:
a) Full academic year: 2.628 €:
From 1st September 2024 to 31st May 2025. 9 months x 292 €/month = 2.628 €
b) First Semester: 1.403,48 €:
From 1st September 2024 to 25st January 2025. 4 months & 25 days x 292 €/month = 1.403,48 €
c) Second Semester: 1.215,10 €:
From 27st January 2025 to 31st May 2025. 4 months & 5 days x 292 €/month = 1.215,10 €
Students for whom a longer stay is approved will pay for the accommodation on a monthly basis at the rate of 292 €.
Applicants who decide to leave the hall of residence before the end of the period requested will forfeit the amounts already paid, unless this is due to circumstances beyond their control. In this case, they must document such circumstances.
The accommodation places will be awarded in order of receipt of the application, until all places have been filled
Places will be awarded in order of application, once payment has been received at the Student Aid and Services Service
To confirm the reservation of the place, applicants must pay in advance for the amount corresponding to the whole of the period booked, except those who apply for the full academic year who may only pay the amount of money corresponding to the first semester (5 months).
To make the payments applicants must use one of the following methods of payment:
A. By credit or debit card through the gateway enabled in the online application form.
B. By bank transfer to the account of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the details of which are as follows:

The subject line of the bank transfer should contain the application number and the applicant’s last and first names, and a copy of the bank receipt has to be sent to sur [at] usc.es (sur[at]usc[dot]es) within the period of 24 hours. If the above requirements are not fulfilled, it will be understood that the applicant relinquishes the place allocated.
Full-year applicants may choose one of the following payment options:
1. Payment for the whole of the period booked: Applicants choosing this option should pay for the whole of the period booked upon confirming the reservation of their place.
2. Payment for the first semester (5 months) and monthly payment for the rest of the period booked: monthly payment made by credit or debit card through the gateway enabled in a link that will be sent by email.
- Full Academic Year: From 1st September 2024 to 31st May 2025.
- First Semester: From 1st September 2024 to 25st January 2025.
- Second Semester: From 27st de January 2025 to 31st May 2025.
In exceptional circumstances, residents may be authorised to occupy the accommodation outside the periods indicated above if they so request, in which case they should pay the amount corresponding to the extension period.
SUR’s University Residence Halls may close during the holidays (Christmas, Easter and the months of July and August).
The Vice-rectory of Students and Culture will provide accommodation for those residents who wish to remain and justify the need to stay in SUR’s University Residence Halls. On the Santiago de Compostela campus, accommodation will be provided in one of the halls that remain open. Residents of the Jesús Bal y Gay Residence Hall on the Lugo campus will be provided with accommodation in Santiago de Compostela and will be reimbursed for the cost of transport to and from Santiago.
Occupation of SUR accommodation implies:
a) Acceptance of the current regulations: those which figure in this announcement, in the SUR’s Regulations, in the centre’s internal regulations and those established by each directorate.
b) The obligation to occupy the accommodation allocated during the entire period booked.
Full-year residents who pay for the accommodation on a monthly basis should do so in the first 6 days of each month; if not they will be subject to the consequences laid out in article 7 of the SUR’s regulations.
Residents may be requested to change rooms within the same centre according to the necessities of the Service.
