The lectures will consist in the explanation of the contents of the subject reflected in the annual teaching guide, in combination with tasks related to the explanation given by the teaching staff, using the board and audiovisual means. Board/seminar practices are complementary activities that will be intercalated with the theoretical content of the program, and that can be taught by the teaching staff or by the own students, under the supervision of the teaching staff. Both master classes and board/seminar practices will be held in the classroom in 50-minute sessions.
Clinical practices will serve to complement the theoretical contents of the course and will be mainly oriented to acquisition by the students of competences inherent to the clinical practice. Practical classes C1, C2, C3 and C4 will be taught in the practice laboratory of the Department of Pharmacology and practice C5 in the Rof Codina Veterinary Hospital.
Throughout the course, tasks will be assigned to the student (study, work, readings) that will be guided by the teaching staff in the tutoring sessions. Deliveries of associated tasks or questionnaires will be made in the classroom in person or through the virtual classroom. The platforms provided by the USC: Virtual classroom, and Forms will be used. For deliveries in virtual mode, a period of 2 to 3 weeks will be set depending on the difficulty of the work. Out-of-time deliveries will not be valued. During the course 4 tasks will be assigned according to the following estimate: Task 1, first half of October, Task 2 second half of October and first half of November, Task 3 second half of November and Task 4 first half of December. During the semester, questionnaires will be opened on the virtual campus, at the end of each topic, with an estimated delivery time of 2 weeks and whose completion requires a maximum time of approximately 15 minutes. Some questionnaires will be conducted exclusively during exhibition hours.
Student learning during practical training sessions will be continuously evaluated by delivering the results of the activities performed at the end of the practical session.
A continuous assessment of learning will be carried out during the lectures and board/seminar practices through questionnaires and tasks performed by the student throughout the course.
The knowledge acquired during the course will also be evaluated through a final face-to-face examination.
FINAL RATING:
1) 15 % Practical sessions (up to 3 % each practical session).
2) 35 % Continuous evaluation (active participation in classes, questionnaires, tasks).
3) 50 % Exam, consisting of a test type exam and/or short questions in which all the knowledge acquired in the subject will be evaluated. A correction to the probability of passing the test by random answers shall be applied to the test score.
It is necessary to obtain a minimum in each part in order to pass the course. From the final score (over 10 points):
1) At least 0.75 points must be obtained in the practical sessions
2) At least 1.75 points must be obtained in the continuous evaluation
3) At least 2.5 points must be obtained in the examination
If the minimum qualification is not obtained in each part, the final grade will be the maximum qualification obtained in one of the three parts.
For cases of fraudulent exercises or tests, the regulation “Normativa de avaliación do rendemento académico dos estudantes e de revisión de cualificacións” shall apply.
Class attendance exemptions are not applicable.
In the extraordinary call, the exam can be recovered and will be carried out under the same conditions as in the ordinary call, and the participation grade in the subject and the practical grade will be preserved.
Among the different calls in different academic years the score in the practical sessions will be conserved.
