1.- El alumnado de primer curso por primera vez a tiempo completo tienen que matricular 60 créditos. Un 15% del alumnado podrá cursar estudios a tiempo parcial (30 créditos).
2.- Continuación de estudios: libre con un máximo de 75 créditos

A USC ten un programa de alumnos titores para as titulacións de grao, de forma que alumnos de últimos cursos, logo dunha formación que lles facilita a Universidade, realizan tarefas de orientación aos alumnos que inician os estudos.

Cando se produza a suspensión dun título oficial, a USC garante o adecuado desenvolvemento efectivo das ensinanzas que iniciasen os seus estudantes ata a súa finalización. Para iso, o Consello de Goberno aproba os criterios relacionados, entre outros, con:

• A admisión de matrículas de novo ingreso na titulación.
• A supresión gradual da impartición da docencia.
• Se o título extinguido é substituído por outro similar (modificando a natureza do título), fixa as condicións que faciliten aos/as estudantes a continuidade de estudos no novo título e as equivalencias entre as materias dun e doutro plan.

Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to students with the following degrees/ diplomas or studies, or any other recognized as equivalent to these:
A.1. Spanish Bachiller, European Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate.
A.2. Baccalaureate from European Union Member States’ education systems or other countries withinternational agreements.
A.3. Advanced Technician in Vocational Training, Advanced Technician in Plastic Arts and Design orAdvanced Technician in Sports Education, from the Spanish Education System.
A.4.Studies carried out in European Union Member States or in other countries with international reciprocal agreements which meet the academic requirements in those States to access their university study programmes.
A.5. Official Spanish university degrees of Diplomado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico, Licenciado, Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Graduado or Máster Universitario.
A.6. Partial (foreign or Spanish) university studies.
Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is also possible for:
B.1. People over twenty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
B.2. People over forty with work or professional experience related to a university field of knowledge.
B.3. People over forty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
Likewise, access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to:
C.1. People meeting the requirements to enter university according to the Spanish Education System regulations prior to Ley Orgánica 8/2013, of December 9.

The Faculty has 9 general purpose classrooms, 3 viewing rooms; 5 computer labs for laboratory tasks for subjects related to the press and multimedia, as well as technological innovation; 2 radio studios; 3 audio editing booths; 3 TV recording sets, one of them for virtual reality, 1 film recording set with stage machinery; 1 classroom for computerised TV editing, 7 video editing booths, and 1 dubbing room.

The areas equipped for students include 2 free access computer rooms and 3 meeting rooms.

It is also worth highlighting that there is Wi-Fi access from all points of the Faculty building.

The Library of the Faculty of Communication Sciences has more than 80 reading places and a work room. It also has a media library that is well equipped with national and international press as well as with audiovisual material (films, documentaries, television).

El Grado en Periodismo tiene como objetivo formar futuros profesionales destinados a desarrollar todas aquellas tareas relacionadas con la busqueda, la selección, la gestión, la producción y la difusión de información de espectro referencial muy amplio, de carácter general o especializada, tanto en el marco de entidades mediáticas propiamente dichas, como de instituciones públicas o personales, en las que tengan cabida estas prácticas informativas.

El Grado en Comunicación Audiovisual tiene como objetivo, por su parte, formar futuros profesionales destinados a desarrollar tareas enmarcadas en el amplio territorio de la comunicación audiovisual, de la ficción y del entretenimiento, que tienen cabida en el ámbito de las Industrias Culturales y Creativas. Esta formación, asentada en amplios conocimientos de carácter técnico y estético, se traduce en una ulterior capacidad de ideación y de materialización de narrativas, de formatos, de programas y obras de muy diversa índole, destinados la múltiples soportes, y que requieren la mobilización de múltiples gramáticas.

Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados, incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio;

Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio;

Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética;

Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado;

Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

Mobility

A mobilidade dos/as estudantes está regulada a través do “Regulamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través da Oficina de Relacións Exteriores xestiónanse programas de intercambio tanto nacionais (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) e extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina ou países de fala inglesa):

Dentro de la oferta del Grado en Periodismo están incluídos 12 créditos optativos de prácticas en empresas incluídos en el Módulo de Prácticas en empresas; se trata de una materia optativa complementaria que se desarrolla en empresas vinculadas a la USC a través del convenio de prácticas USC-Empresa, lo cual regula esta actividad. Las competencias que adquieren los estudiantes son las relacionadas con el propio desarrollo de su estancia formativa en las empresas sujetas a convenio. Junto a estas competencias específicas, en términos generales, los estudiantes conocen in situ la idiosincrasia propia del mercado laboral.

El alumnado deberá realizar un único Trabajo fin de grado con una carga lectiva de 24 créditos. Este trabajo deberá contar con dos partes claramente diferenciadas, una de Periodismo y outra de Comunicación Audiovisual
