The objective of the TFM is to initiate the student in the research and development of medicines. It consists of the development, presentation and defense of a research work in the fields of Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Technology, that aims initiating the students in research tasks, and allowing them to demonstrate knowledge, skills and aptitudes associated with the Title. It has 24 compulsory ECTS credits.
Each TFM will be held under the tutelage of a tutor and there may be a co-tutor. The tutors of TFM are professors of the areas involved in the Master in Drug R & D.
The tutor organizes work sessions with the student for establishing the tasks to be carried out. It is responsible for defining the work with the student, guiding its development, guaranteeing the fulfillment of the established objectives, doing the following-up and issuing a final report to authorize the Master thesis defense.
Each student can customize his/her schedule as much as possible and adapt it to his/her needs. For the defense, the student must have passed all other credits of the degree.

Our staff primarily belongs to the University of Santiago de Compostela, integrated into the Faculty of Pharmacy and the prestigious research institutes CIMUS (Singular Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases), iMATUS (Materials Institute), or IDIS (Health Research Institute of Santiago). Researchers from CiQUS and biotechnological or pharmaceutical companies also collaborate in the master's program. The team combines solid teaching experience with a notable research trajectory. It includes both senior professors with many years of university teaching and young researchers recently incorporated, who have completed their postdoctoral training at internationally renowned universities in drug research. Recognized for their significant scientific contributions, our staff is committed in inspiring and guiding you to become a leader in Drug Research and Development. You can access their scientific contributions through the USC Research Portal.
