The expository and interactive sessions are aimed at training students regarding the acquisition of knowledge related to the contents of the subject.
In the expository sessions, the teacher will explain the different topics supported by audiovisual material and ICT tools. In the event that it is necessary to change the scenario and face-to-face expository teaching is not possible, the MS Teams platform will be used, teaching synchronously.
In any case, the Virtual Campus will be used as a means of communication with the students, both to send them all the information on the subject, as well as the materials that must be prepared by the students, as well as to deliver the work they will be part of the evaluation.
The interactive activities will be of various types: (1) Analysis of cases, exercises, assignments and simulations to put into practice the concepts learned in the lecture classes and acquire the specific skills (at the elementary level) necessary to pass the subject. (2) Small group dynamics in which, in addition to developing specific skills directly related to the contents of the subject, students will practice oral communication skills. In addition to all this, throughout the course students will be able to participate in carrying out experiments and studies related to the subject, as well as they will have to carry out several compulsory readings.
Evaluation activities have a double aspect; On the one hand, the continuous assessment activities will allow students to have constant feedback on their progress throughout the course, regarding their degree of acquisition of skills related to knowledge, techniques and attitudes; while the partial and final exams will try to evaluate the level of knowledge acquired by the subject regarding the contents of the topics included in the subject program.
Attendance at the expository and interactive sessions is mandatory, except for justified reasons, to pass the subject.
The evaluation of the specific competences of the subject that are more related to the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge will be carried out through the final exam and/or the partial exams that will be worth 70% of the final grade. The face-to-face exam will have two parts, a larger part with test-type questions and a smaller part with essay-type questions (statistical exercises, developing content, etc.). In the event that a face-to-face exam is not possible, and it has to be done telematically, the exam would only consist of essay-type questions.
The evaluation of both specific skills and those related to the degree will be based on the performance of the students in each of the interactive activities (individual projects, group projects, case analysis, assignments, readings, etc.). This part will be worth 30%.
The final grade will be obtained from the weighted average of the expository part plus the expository part; Passing the subject implies having obtained at least 4 points out of 10 in both parts, expository and interactive.
The student who is granted the exemption from attendance, following Instruction No. 1/2017 of the General Secretariat on the exemption from class attendance in certain circumstances, will be evaluated with a final exam, which will account for 70% of the final grade. , and with the assessment of the exercises, reports, etc. referred to program topics, which will mean 30% of the final grade. The final grade will be obtained from the weighted average of the expository part plus the expository part; Passing the subject implies having obtained at least 4 points out of 10 in both parts, expository and interactive.
Fraudulent completion of any exam, exercises, reports, etc., in whole or in part, that may be subject to evaluation for the subject will result in a FAIL, regardless of the disciplinary process followed against the offending student.
(DOG N. 140, xoves, Xullo 21, 2011, p. 20529). University of Santiago de Compostela. RESOLUTION of June 15, 2011 for the publication of the Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of two students and review of qualifications, approved by the Government Council on June 15, 2011.
Article 16. Fraudulent execution of exercises or tests. Fraudulent performance of any exercise or test required in the evaluation of a subject will imply a failing qualification in the corresponding call, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be followed against the offending student.
Study time and personal work to pass the subject: (approximate time)
Contact hours: 20 theoretical hours and 22 practical hours.
Preparation of materials for classes, readings and cases: 10 hours
Exam preparation: 30 hours.
An important recommendation is attendance at classes, both theoretical and practical, and above all, active participation in them. It is essential to successfully pass the subject and achieve the objectives proposed in this program.
A second recommendation is that the contents of the subject be studied systematically and regularly throughout the teaching period and that the practical material be used to delve into the contents of some of the issues dealt with in theory.
Plagiarism and misuse of technologies:
Fraudulent performance of any exam, exercises, reports, etc., in whole or in part, that may be subject to evaluation for the subject will imply the qualification of fail in the current call, in accordance with article 16 contained in the "Regulations assessment of the academic performance of students and review of qualifications”.
