The student, at the end of this subject, should:
• To know the neurochemical bases of the actions of the drugs on the addictive behavior
• To be able to identify the main groups of psychotropic drugs indicated in the treatment of addictions, to know their mechanisms of action, their main pharmacological actions and their therapeutic uses
• To know the main therapeutic strategies used in the problems derived from the use of substances, their objectives, their implementation, the therapeutic follow-up and the evaluation of their results
• Know the pharmacological mechanisms applicable to the different types of pain, the active principles used, the objectives of the treatment, its implementation, the required therapeutic follow-up and the evaluation of its results
• Know how to identify the general health problems that may require psychopharmacological intervention in both hospital and outpatient settings. To know the pharmacological families used, the objectives of the intervention, its implementation, the required therapeutic follow-up and the evaluation of the results
• Be able to handle the sources of information and documentation on psychotropic drugs to enable the updating of the knowledge acquired.

CG1: Acquire, develop and implement a comprehensive health concept, which contemplates the biopsychosocial components of the same, according to the guidelines established by the WHO.
CG2. To know in depth the psychological nature of human behavior, as well as the social and biological factors that can affect it.
CG5. To know in depth the biological and psychosocial factors associated with health and illness problems, especially those related to mental health.
CG6: To know in depth the different models of evaluation and intervention in the field of General Sanitary Psychology, as well as the techniques and procedures derived from them for the treatment of behavioral disorders and the psychological factors associated with health problems .
CT1 - Know how to use information and communication technologies in professional performance.
CT2 - Know how to handle sources of bibliographical and digital scientific documentation standardized at international level.
CT3 - Know how to analyze critically and use sources of clinical information.
CT4: Know how to formulate working hypotheses in research and to collect and critically evaluate information for problem solving, applying the scientific method.
CE5 - Know how to choose and apply the most appropriate psychological intervention techniques according to their purpose (prevention, rehabilitation, advice, counseling, etc.).
CE7 - Know how to follow a psychological intervention, in accordance with the established goals, to introduce, if necessary, changes in it during its development.
CE8 - Know how to provide feedback to the recipients in an appropriate and precise way in order to involve them in the different phases of the process of psychological evaluation and intervention.
CE11 - Know the framework of action of the general sanitary psychologist and know how to refer the specialist specialist.
CE12. Know the obligations and responsibilities of health personnel regarding the confidentiality of information and protection of personal data of patients.
CE15. Carry out promotional and educational activities for individual and community psychological health.

Written exam (objective test, short answer test and / or development test) with a value of 70% of the grade.
Reports / Reports of Practices. Continuous evaluation of face-to-face activity and practices. Completing the internship program (compulsory attendance) is an essential requirement to be able to take the theoretical exam. Once this requirement is met, the score obtained will mean 30% of the final grade.
