Objectives:
1.- To know and go deep into the fundamentals of pathological images observable with the different methods of imaging diagnosis.
2.- To know and go deep into the possibilities, limitations and main indications of the therapeutic methods used by Radiology and Physical Medicine.
3.- To know and go deep into the diagnostic interventionist techniques the non-invasive procedures they are based on. To know and go deep into the therapeutic interventionist techniques.
PROGRAMME
Section I: Fundamentals of the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques by physical agents.
Paragraph I: On the physical and biological fundamentals of the diagnostic techniques by physical agents.
Paragraph II: On the physical and biological fundamentals of the therapeutic techniques by physical agents.
Section II: General semiology of imaging diagnosis.

Students will be able to identify, differentiate and discern each one of the elements of the different structures of the human body observable in documents of imaging diagnosis.
Students will be able to analyze if there are alterations in the form, structure or relations of those elements and to identify pathology with different difficulty levels.
Students should know and understand diagnostic and therapeutic invasive radiological techniques at systemic and neuroradiology levels.
Students will be able to understand the therapeutic methods of Radiology and Physical Medicine.
The teaching of the subject takes place in the second term of the academic year:
Many of the classes include the projection of radiological images and some include video projections.
Clinical practices rotating through the sections of the services of Radiodiagnostics. Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy of the Clinical Hospital
Simulation practices on different thematic systems developed at CESIS (Integral Simulation Center of Santiago de Compostela).
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT (will represent 20% of the final grade).
Class attendance will be mandatory and necessary to pass the course. The completion of the programmed activities of the course and the student's attitude will be evaluated within the continuous evaluation. The continuous evaluation will not represent more than 20% of the total, except in the case of students who participate as tutors in the simulation practices that will have an additional 10%.
The continuous evaluation of knowledge and class participation throughout the course (will represent 15% of the final calification).
The practical classes will represent 5% of the final calification. Attendance to the practical classes is mandatory to pass the course.
FINAL EXAMINATION (theoretical-practical), questions on images and/or test questions (on images or not). It will account for 80% of the final calification.
The test exam will consist of 40 questions with 5 answers, only one correct. It will be necessary to obtain a score of 5 to pass, taking into account that for each wrong answer 0.33 will be deducted from the correct answers. This exam will be taken at the first opportunity. In the rest of the exams it will be carried out by means of questions on images.
The exam on images, or not, will consist of 10 questions with a maximum of 10 images, although some questions may be without images, to be commented by the student.
Theoretical-practical class hours.
Hospital Practices: In the morning in the service of radiodiagnositics, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and physical medicine.
Time devoted to the study of books.
Students must attend to theoretical classes and clinical practices.
Students must devote time to study the recommended books.
The hours of theoretical-practical classes are of great importance in all subjects but even greater in this one, above all in the classes dealing with imaging diagnosis and invasive techniques where a great quantity of images are projected and explained.
