.- To know the processes that trigger the disease in the field of medical and surgical pathology.
.- To differentiate the mechanisms and / or problems of most common diseases of different organ systems of the human body, medical and surgical treatment.
.- precise procedures and interventions to provide adequate nursing care to individuals with medical and surgical problems in various equipment and systems.
.- Identify and assess the needs and / or problems caused by disease, establishing priorities.
.- Elaborate planning nursing care to meet the needs / problems identified.

Different subjects include clinical manifestations of the disease, diagnostic testing and nursing care, urgency outpatient and inpatient care, critical care management and care in the
hospital unit according to patient needs.
MODULE I - NERVOUS SYSTEM
Unit 1.-Degenerative processes of the central nervous system. Care (E: I / O Block Schedules: Block II and III Schedules).
Unit 2.- Spinal cord injuries. Critical and urgent outpatient and inpatien management, procedures and care (immediate care, immobilization, transfer, etc.). General care for patients with spinal cord injuries (E: Block I hours; Block II and III hours).
Unit 3.- Cranioencephalic traumas. Critical and outpatient care (immediate care, immobilization, transfer, etc.) and in-hospital care, procedures and critical care. General care in patients with head trauma (E: Block I Hours; S: Block II and III Hours; L: Block II and III Hours).
Unit 4. Stroke. Critical and urgent outpatient and inpatien management, procedures and care (immediate care, transfer, etc.) a. Care for the patient with stroke (E: Block I schedules).
Unit 5. Meningitis and meningeal syndrome Care (Schedules E Block I).

MODULE II-HEART AND GREAT VESSELS
Unit 1. Endocarditis. Rheumatic fever. General study of valvulopathies. General care (E: Schedules of Block I).
Unit 2. Heart failure. Acute pulmonary edema. MODULE III- ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
Unit 1. Thyroid and parathyroid diseases. Care of patients with hypo, hyperthyroidism and parathyroidism. Pre- and post-surgical care for thyroid surgery. Acute metabolic disorders: critical and emergency management, procedures and care. General care in the patient with thyroid and parathyroid diseases. (E: Schedules of Block I).
Unit 2. Adult diabetes. General care in the patient with diabetes. Acute metabolic disorders: critical and emergency management, procedures and care. Chronic complications: prevention and care (E: Block I schedules; S: Block II and III schedules; L: Block II and III schedules).
Unit 3. Diseases of the adrenal glands. Care in the patient with hypohyperfunction adrenal glands. Acute metabolic disorders: Critical and emergency management, procedures and care (E: Block IV).
MODULE IV-URINARY SYSTEM
Unit 1. Obstruction of the urinary tract. Urinary stones.Care (E: Block IV; S: Schedules Block V and VI; L: Schedules Block V and VI).

E, S, L: use of new technologies that incorporate clinical images, diagnostic tests and simulations by computer or with mannequins and with standardized simulated patients (theater group formed by students / graduates, collaboration students and doctorate).

Standardized robotic clinical cases will be used according to the competencies of the subject, with video learning and multimedia debriefing.
• ECOE FORMAT. Oriented to evaluate the competences by means of a format of the test / s of an ECOE, tool of proven validity to determine the capacity of the student to use the knowledge, abilities and attitudes to solve the situations that present in the exercise of the profession .

To pass the subject it is required to pass the parts corresponding to the expository and interactive teaching of both seminars and laboratories.
For the evaluation of class attendance, the provisions of the Regulation on Teaching Assistance adapted to the European Higher Education Area (Agreement of the Governing Council of 25 March 2010) shall apply.
A) Continue:
-Contents corresponding to the expository teaching and seminar by means of diverse face-to-face tests (20%).
-Contents corresponding to laboratories (20%).
(B) Face-to-face final test of the contents corresponding to the expository teaching and seminar (60%)

In this subject, in different units, contents related to the general attention in the adult patient are approached, as well as in the handling, procedures and critical and urgent attention in the context of the “ORDER CIN / 2134/2008, of 3 July , which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Nurse ”.
The in-depth approach to the management of urgency and t critical patient is carried out in the Master in Care, Management and Health Care, among others in the subjects of "Critical Patient Management", "Urgencies, Emergencies and Major Catastrophes", "Prepracticum: simulated cases" and "Clinical practices"
