Summary
Iconoclasm is a phenomenon characterised by the destruction of images. Images have the power to provoke a wide variety of responses in the observer, as there is a strong belief that they are directly related to the object or person being depicted. When the image is attacked, that which it symbolises is also attacked. Given the power that images wield, they have been used throughout history on many occasions as a political weapon. However, this continues to be the case. Iconoclasm is a phenomenon that has adapted to the new times, an example of which is the destruction of heritage in the recent Iraq War by the terrorist group Daesh. The Iraq War and the iconoclastic acts of Daesh were set in a context of a war of images, in which Daesh used the images at its disposal as a weapon against the West. The media amplified the message of destruction because of the globalisation effect of digital reproduction. As a result, new issues have emerged that call into question the preservation and protection of heritage in a war.

Summary
The outbreak of the Civil War (1936-1939) was one of the turning points for the incipient cultural context developed during the first decades of the 20th century in Galicia. This conflict will produce a new wave of emigration and exile directed largely towards Latin America, being fundamental for the continuation and preservation of the Galicianism and nationalism assumptions in the actual sphere. The establishment of an image of Galicia, already begun in the 19th century, will be continued both in the diaspora and in the interior, with different types and forms of representation. To carry out this analysis, serial publications such as magazines produced by the exiled intellectuals, as well as by the numerous Galician societies and associations in the diaspora, will be fundamental. In the interior, in addition to cultural magazines, the production of posters on a variety of subjects such as festivities and tourism sill be of great importance. For the approach to the different materials and the establishment of a theoretical basis for the cataloguing of this type of materials, the different databases with digitised materials, such as those collected in the Repertorio da Prensa da Emigración Galega by the Consello da Cultura Galega or the Biblioteca Dixital de Galicia (Galiciana), will be fundamental.

Summary
The pictorial work called “Portrait of José Olaya Balandra” (1828) by the Peruvian painter José Gil de Castro was appreciated and disseminated as a piece of predominantly historical value, and it was not until the mid-20th century that an aesthetic appreciation began to be established. This work focuses on collecting contributions from historical research and material samples, as well as references from the art market. The main objective of this research is to characterize the historical, artistic and economic values of the work in question. To do this, the contextual aspects (biographical and plastic) of the artist Gil de Castro are stated, as well as the character represented by José Olaya. Olaya's portrait is then analyzed based on the portraits of Gil de Castro and the Latin American historical portrait of his time. Finally, the portrait of José Olaya is compared with the art market of the work of Gil de Castro and his contemporaries Pedro José de Figueroa and Vicente Escobar Flores.

Summary
The present Master's Thesis will focus on the convergence between contemporary art and ecology. This approach, frequently referred to as EcoArt, Art-Nature, or environmental art, emerged in the late 20th century in response to the growing concern about an environmental crisis, finding a clear predecessor in land art. Our study will center on the analysis of artistic practices developed in Galicia from 1990 to the present, which aim to raise awareness about challenges such as climate change, pollution, and the loss of biodiversity in our community. Additionally, considering that the fight against this crisis requires a collective effort, the creative proposals of artists Lucía Loren, Esther Pizarro, Gilberto Esparza, Carlos Castellanos, and María Castellanos will be analyzed, as they offer potential solutions to these challenges. The outcome of the theoretical research will be concretized in an expository discourse that can be translated into a museographic installation, ultimately aiming to provide visibility and foster critical and creative thinking around the environmental crisis facing our planet. For this final stage, the galleries of the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea will be selected as the project's hosting space, and all necessary resources for its proper exhibition will be defined.

Summary
From the end of the 19th century to the first third of the 20th century, a great number of emigrants left the township of Ames due to economic needs to settle in America. From there, many of them were grouped into educational societies that would finance the construction of schools in different parishes of the municipality during the first half of the 1930s. In this study, the history of these promoter groups will be investigated, in addition to studying the characteristics and impact that these schools had on the education of the children from the villages. Likewise, we will formulate an exhibition project that aims to remember and honour the history of these educational centres born from philanthropy.

Summary
This paper provides an approach to the process of recovery and museumisation of works of art that were plundered during the Napoleonic invasion of the Iberian Peninsula in the 19th century by Napoleon Bonaparte's troops. To this end, a brief analysis of the war conflict will be made, delving into the artistic field of the expropriation of works, which will explain the historical and artistic context of the Napoleonic era, and the specific situation in the Spanish case, as well as providing the corresponding pictorial examples that exemplify this despoilment. In the second part, the two most interesting diplomatic attempts to recover works of art after the expulsion of the French troops in 1813 will be reviewed in order to present the current state of the different museum institutions that house the more than two hundred and eighty works returned to the country.

Summary
This Master's Thesis consists of the creation of a cultural management model for the city of Ponteareas with the purpose of being launched between the years 2024 and 2028. Ponteareas is characterized by being a town with a great cultural heritage, both material and intangible. Its Romanesque style churches are as important as its festivals or its relationship with music, being the birthplace of renowned artists such as Reveriano Soutullo or Rogelio Groba. Despite all the heritage assets that the city has, there is a notable deficiency on the part of the public administration in culture and its planning, especially in issues related to cultural management, production and marketing. This is the main reason for carrying out this work, to have a base on which to work in order to enhance and develop local culture and identity. To carry out this work, on the one hand, the history and culture of the city has been investigated and, on the other, interviews have been carried out with different cultural agents in order to have an overview of the weaknesses and strengths of the municipality. Finally, it is important to highlight that all the actions described in this management model are based on citizen participation, local creation and universal access to culture.

Summary
My objective in this work is to approach the analysis and investigation of the figure and work of the German painter and sculptor Manfred Gnädinger, better known as Man. The artist became known for his artistic intervention in the maritime landscape and natural environment of the small coastal town of Camelle where he decided to settle in the mid-60s, and lead a spiritual and anchorite lifestyle. The formal and stylistic characteristics of his work consecrate him as an artist of nature or of the Land art movement, but also of poveda and marginal art, and his artistic identity as a figure of primitivist aesthetic romanticism. My intention is to highlight his work and his value as a unique artist in the Galician artistic and cultural panorama. In addition to investigating the musealization processes that were carried out to preserve the artist's legacy.

Summary
During the franquismo, Coros y Danzas played a fundamental role in the indoctrination and consolidation of the regime's ideology. Through the Seccion Femenina, these artistic groups were dedicated to promoting and studying traditional Spanish culture at the same time as they used it to inculcate nationalist and conservative values. Its mission was to reinforce national unity and the ideals of Francoism through a series of cultural activities that included dance, music and the use of traditional clothing, thus allowing the greatness and wealth of the various regions of Spain to be transmitted. This work seeks to approach these activities proposed by the Coros y Danzas Companies, in particular those corresponding to the Delegation of A Coruña to analyze how these were a fundamental tool to achieve the indoctrination and homogenization desired by the Franco dictatorship. Demonstrating how these performances were not only a form of entertainment and socialization, but also an educational and propaganda tool. Through the repetition of songs, traditional dances and the celebration of parties, the main values of Francoism such as obedience, submission and patriotism were reinforced. Making Coros y Danzas one of the most significant organizations of the Franco dictatorship.

This work analyzes the different memories existing in Peru regarding the internal armed conflict (1980-2000), which confronted the Peruvian State with two armed organizations of the New Left: the Communist Party of Peru-Sendero Luminoso (PCP-SL) and the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA). It also reflects on the repercussions that the ''battles for memory'' are generating at a political and social level.

Summary
During the early morning hours of November 1, 1954, the guerrilla group National Liberation Front or FLN, would begin an attack against various military and civilian targets throughout the territory, starting an asymmetrical war for the independence of Algeria. This day would be remembered by history as Toussaint Rouge, the starting signal for Algeria's entry into the international framework. Throughout this study, we will dedicate ourselves to analyzing the transnational relations between Latin America and Africa, focusing our interest on the alliance established between Algeria and Cuba and on the transformations undergone by national liberation projects, in the face of the circulation of new ideas and key concepts in the revolutionary processes of the time. At the same time, we will delve into the paradigmatic case of the Algerian revolutionary project, as the protagonist of our narrative. Chronologically, we will take Ben Bella's presidential term, specifically the period of 1962-1965, conceived as a period of splendour for the African territory, whose fame would be reflected in the consideration of Algeria as a mecca for the African revolution. Our research will seek to equate the two countries, highlighting the importance of Algeria as a center of subversion in the facilitation and development of projects of coordinated action and solidarity between platforms.

Summary
The contemporary world is witnessing the germination of profound and substantial transformations in the way in which societies and individuals perceive-express their existence, their vital project and their dynamic identity; since then, the I and the we have been intrinsically linked to a certain idea of the nation, to its reaffirmation in the cultural field and -consequently- in its embodiment through a specific political regime. This paper, therefore, will analyse the birth of the Galicianist homo nationalis, studying the experiences of nationhood that some of the main figures of Galician nationalism witnessed and articulated -in their respective egodocumentary sources- throughout the paradigmatic twentieth century. To this end, it is essential to observe the shared structures (factors, agents, driving forces...) that explain the author's ideological journey, emerge in the different accounts - personal, subjective and conditioned - and end up converging in a collective discourse on the adoption of the Galician national identity. Thus, the memory of becoming Galicianist is analysed in the light of the biographical illusion itself. In the century in which Galicia passed from region to nation, the project and the self-consideration of Galicianism - plural and sensitive to the echoes of time - faced a changing panorama, conditioning both the ideas-force present in the stories, and the evolution of the vital agents of nationalisation, and even the very idea of being and should be of Galicia and of themselves.

Since 1976, the Spanish transition to democracy included a complex process of territorial decentralization in which, far from acting out of strictly reactive motives, the political forces of Francoist reformism played an important leadership role. The central purpose of this work is to analyze the “regionalization” of the main right-wing parties in Galicia in a broad sense, from the Union of the Democratic Center (UCD) to the Popular Alliance (AP) and their various forms of coalition. It analyzes the evolution of strategies, practices, and political discourses in the construction of the political culture of Galician conservative regionalism, whose precedents can already be found in the various forms of “regionalized Spanish nationalism” or “functional neo-regionalism” characteristic of the previous dictatorial period. It also examines the different patterns of inter- and intra-party conflict within this space and their implications for the transfer of hegemony from the UCD to the leadership of the Popular Alliance, especially in the period from 1979 to 1980, during the controversy known as the Statute of “outrage” and in the first autonomic elections of 1981. Finally, we analyze the factors, dynamics, and incentives that shaped this process of regionalization, concluding that the strong elitist nature of these parties had a significant impact on the initial low legitimacy of the Galician autonomous system, with a strong emphasis on the discourse of interterritorial socioeconomic inequalities.

Summary
The environmental movement emerged as part of the wave of social movements of the last third of the 20th century in different parts of the planet to combat environmental aggression caused by the expansion of industrialization, urbanization, the Green Revolution, and the use of nuclear energy. In Galicia, an environmental movement also developed from the 1970s. We focus on the period 1974-1986, also considering its antecedents. Our research is based on the theory of collective action, emphasizing the organizational structure of one of the most relevant organizations of this stage, the Asociación para a Defensa Ecolóxica de Galicia (ADEGA), as well as framing processes and the repertoire of protest. The sources we have used are interviews, newspaper archives, photographs, posters, and documentation from the ADEGA archive. Finally, we consider the nuclear conflict in Galicia to see how all these elements operate cohesively. We conclude that the galician environmental movement had continuity with the environmental conflicts of the Franco dictatorship, although with innovations in the repertoire of protest and the central role that the scientific field came to occupy as a territory of contention, in addition to developing an explicitly environmental discourse. The repertoire of protest combined classical forms with innovations that stood out for their visual or symbolic weight. We find that it is a broad and diverse social movement, in which Galician nationalism played a leading role, but which also included many other actors. Furthermore, it was deeply linked to other contemporary social movements, such as pacifism and the conscientious objector’s movement.

Summary
The impact of the Spanish Transition (1975-1981) on domestic work is crucial. The feminist movement fought for the rights of domestic workers, but the perception and participation of women in this field continued to face significant challenges. We will examine key actors in the defense of labor rights and the demands of domestic workers. Despite some legislative advances, the drafting of the 1978 Constitution and subsequent laws failed to completely eliminate discrimination or effectively improve working conditions due to a deeply rooted ideological and patriarchal bias. We will also address the situation of rural women, whose labor in the agrarian economy was largely invisible during the Transition. Despite their significant contribution, these women did not receive the recognition they deserved, reflecting the persistent gender inequality. Although the Spanish Transition brought about significant changes, it left many demands of domestic and rural workers unresolved, who continued to fight for their rights in a still adverse social and legislative environment

Summary
The First World War has been deemed the heyday of nation building and nationalisation for the Western-European states. This stemmed from massive recruitment and patriotic adherence on the one hand, and discursive and geopolitical shifts (around the principle of nationalities, the wave of self-determination, and the breakdown of multinational empires in East and Central Europe) on the other hand. This project aims to explore the relationship between war and nationalisation by comparing two Western-European cases, the Flemish and Sardinian movements, for which the wartime window of opportunities and combatants played a major role. We focus on the Flemish and Sardinian soldiers’ war experience in the Belgian and Italian armies, how they renegotiated their personal and collective identities, the character of their relationship with regionalist or nationalist claims, and the latter’s transformation in the light of Wilsonianism and the re-legitimisation through the imaginaries of war. We conclude that the language of self-determination was only of relative importance, above all for the formulation of the respective autonomist programmes and for the constitution of independent political parties. Moreover, despite the limited wartime appeal of both Flemish and Sardinian nationalist discourses, both the politicisation of ethnicity and the combatants’ emotional and territorial identification proved to be crucial for the postwar mobilisation. Several veterans’ associations aroused then along the lines of ethnoterritorial cleavages, while a segment of former combatants led the new nationalist organisations. Thus, due to the strengthening of both state-based nationalisms and sub-state ethnonationalist mobilisation in Western Europe too, the First World War had the effect of, at best, an ambiguous nationalisation.

Summary
This Master's thesis aims to analyze a set of artistic action groups whose motto is social protest with a strong political and gender-oriented sense. As the object of study, actions and projects carried out by these collectives will be exposed for the subsequent realization of a hypothetical exhibition project. The work will not only focus on international groups such as Pussy Riot, the Guerrilla Girls or LASTESIS, but also on a local and national level, being able to highlight some Galician project, such as Mulleres en acción. Violence Zero; or Spanish groups such as LSD or Erreakzioa-Reacción. Likewise, relevant precedents for the creation of these action groups will be previously exposed: Yoko Ono, Carolee Shneemann, Ana Mendieta and Marina Abramovic, among others. The main objective of the project is to artistically vindicate these groups, some renowned, others less known, highlighting the importance of their work, which is a political, interracial, decolonial, feminist and queer struggle.

Teenagers are one of the most overlooked audience within the contemporary museums world. Museum management should promote inclusive offerings, thereby encouraging visits from all types of audiences and their understanding of contemporary art. The main objective of this Master's Thesis is to conduct research on activities in contemporary museums for the teenage audience. With the data collected in this process, a proposal for activities inspired by the avant-garde is generated. This research was carried out by working with four of the most relevant museums in the contemporary art scene in Galicia, being in contact with the people responsible for activities and educational programs in the museums. In this way, the necessary information was collected, and surveys were also conducted with some teenagers who attended visits or workshops at the museums. The results show that there is a complete lack of activities aimed at teenagers in the current scenario. Based on this conclusion, this thesis proposes a series of dynamics focused on improving the understanding of contemporary art by exploring its origins through the avant-garde movements.

Summary
Thorughout this work it is intended to make a compilation and review of the historical evolution of the Teatro Principal de Tui, a jewel of Galician theatrical architecture of the late nineteenth century, and a reference space during one of the most important stages of the history of Galicia, the Rexurdimento. We expect to achieve a redefinition and evaluation of this patrimonial building poorly treated by the time and circumstances. Through an integral and comparative study of the different types of sources, documentary, technical and audiovisual ones, we want to present a complete study of what was, and still is, the Teatro Principal. Despite the problems it has had to face, it is a patrimonial space in the process of rehabilitation that deserves to be preserved and admired with all the knowledge at our disposal.

This project presents the use of artistic resources in favor of the promotion of the wineries of the D.O.Ca. Rioja and C.A. La Rioja and the analysis of the advertising relationship established between the two. For this, the use of these resources is developed, such as architecture, posters, labeling, advertising campaigns in audiovisual media or social networks. In addition, it is related to the popular festivals of the area that have wine components, highlighting some such as the Battle of Wine in Haro or the Treading of the Grape in the San Mateo Festival in Logroño. On the other hand, the protection and enhancement of both the environmental environment in which this activity is carried out together with the diffusion of wine culture, and the recognition of the wine landscape as cultural heritage are also sought.

Summary
This work intended to develop an exhibition project focusing on Manuel Bujados’s figure and his personal and artistic career. This Galician illustrator, influenced by symbolism, had significant national prominence in the graphic industry during the first quarter of the 20th century, considered the golden age of editorial and advertising illustration. However, over time, his name fell into oblivion and there hardly any research or studies about his career. Therefore, the first part of this project involves a process of documenting and cataloging his work, relying particularly on digitized publications from the Biblioteca de Prensa Histórica and the Biblioteca Digital de Galicia. The second part of the project describes each necessary step for creating the exhibition, starting from the draft, moving through various phases of production and design, and finishing with the assessment of results.

Summary
This work attempts to place the municipality of Culleredo in the context of the development of a broad social movement of an agrarian nature that traveled throughout Galicia between the last decades of the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century. In addition to attending to the general lines of the process, trying to insert the case study into them, it will also be important to talk about its particularities, especially marked by its geographical location in the surroundings of the city of A Coruña. In this sense, it will be of great importance to attend to the development of the symbiotic worker and the relations between the agrarianism of this municipality and the labor movement of the city.

Summary
The House of the Americas is one of the main Latin American cultural projects during the Cold War. Promoted by the Cuban Revolution, an institution will be created along with its magazine, which will seek to form a new Latin culture far from the previous colonial one. The magazine emerged in 1960, just one year after the creation of the institution with the same name and the triumph of the Castro government. Throughout the seventies, which is our chronological framework of study, it will evolve little by little until it ends up becoming an important cultural weapon at the service of the socialist, anti-colonial, anti-imperialist struggle... Despite all this, it always maintain its literary essence and thus, a multitude of intellectuals will go through its publications to help in the formation of the new latin imaginary.

Summary
Through this essay we will be studying those great forgotten in history: Galician countryside women, especially those who lived «off themselves» and we will do so taking as an object of study the single women who lived in the Town of Ponteareas and its immediate surroundings on the 18th century. Thus participating in the great research that has been carried out in recent decades, in favor of the claim and enhancement of the true role and importance of the rural female world and its social, cultural and economic contributions. Galician women, as «custodians» of popular culture, language and traditions, matriarchs in many cases, who fought and worked for theirs and their families survival, associated with the great migratory processes that took place in modern Galicia, in a world that was not always fair to them. To complete this essay we used some notarial protocols from the Provincial Archive of Pontevedra, parish records of the Diocesan Historical Archive of Tui and the records of verification of the Cadastre of Ensenada, as main sources, all of them refered to the Town of Ponteareas and the Parishes of San Miguel de los Canedos, San Mamed de Fontenla, San Verísimo de Arcos, San Pedro de Angoares, Santa María de Areas and Santa Cristina de Bugarín.

Summary
During recent prehistory, the production and use of lithic tools continued to be constant and, therefore, their record is common in the archaeological contexts of this period. In the specific case of the northwestern Iberia, the lithic tool assemblages (axes, micro-axes, adzes, arrowheads, etc.) from megalithic funerary contexts are particularly significant. Traditionally, this type of material is considered to be of a ritual nature and, therefore, these artifacts would not have been used prior to their deposition. In this sense, projectile points are especially meaningful. They are a usual element in these contexts and are usually made on so called “exotic” raw materials, which has been interpreted as elements with a relevant cultural value for these communities. The aim of this master's thesis is the techno-functional characterization of a sample of projectile points from different megalithic contexts in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula: Parxubeira, Dombate, Cotogrande, Mámoa do Rei and Casa dos Mouros. The study of these tools consists of two phases: the technological analysis and the traceological study. The combination of both methodologies has allowed a first approach to the meaning of the projectile points in the funerary contexts of northwest Iberia.

Summary
The present research work focuses on a petrographic analysis of mineralogical inclusions in a ceramic sample belonging to three archaeological sites in the middle valley of Majes, Arequipa Peru; recovered in an Archaeological Rescue Project. The main objective is to establish the relationships between petrographic physical characteristics and the stylistic-chronological characteristics in the sample. The sample covers the Middle Horizon, Late Intermediate and Late Horizon periods. and includes 119 fragments, from 35 different vessels. The analysis was carried out by observing and identifying inclusions through digital photographs of paste, condensing the information in a file and analyzing the variation in the type of inclusions and their attributes, which It allowed us to infer possible different forms of domination by the polities that dominated the study area during the horizons.

Summary
In Greek vase-painting, pictorial representation is generally ruled by an iconographic convention that always depicts figures in profile view. Nevertheless, there are certain rare characters that, due to their nature or context, are prone to show a fully frontal face. This study constitutes a compilation and analysis of those frontal faces depicted in Attic vases, whose form or meaning bear a direct relationship with the Greek symposium, that is to say, the social rite that constituted one of the fundamental contexts for the use of vessels and their images. Within this specific space, vases portray images particularly prone to transgress the pictorial norm and to expose a full-frontal view, engaging in a direct confrontation with the viewer. The analysis developed in this study will focus, firstly, in the frontal face of Dionysus and his companions, the satyrs; secondly, the special cases of the gorgoneion and eye-cups, and, finally, the frontal gaze that display the representations of certain symposiasts. All these frontal faces participate, one way or another, in the visual experience of the Greek symposium context.

Summary
The royal cemetery of Ur is one of the most outstanding funerary contexts of South Mesopotamia. In this necropolis, a set of tombs, called “royal”, stands out for its richness and monumentality, illustrating the emergence and consolidation of the elites in this city-state during the third millennium BC. These elites developed a unique funerary ritual, with few parallels in the region and little historical projection, which evidences the high economic power of the city and includes human sacrifices. However, the knowledge about this site is deeply influenced by the conditions and quality of the excavation work carried out between 1922 and 1934 by Leonard C. Woolley's team. Therefore, despite the fact that almost a century has passed since its discovery, many questions persist about the motives and methods behind these spectacular burials. Through a thorough analysis of the archaeological evidence and the most relevant subsequent studies on the materials and human remains, the aim is to clarify what the funerary rituals of these elites consisted of and what information can be extracted from the available data. In this way, a complete and contrasted reading of the information on these burials is achieved, providing a data base on which to continue the development of future research.

Studies on the granting of Latium to universa Hispania by the emperor Vespasian continue to be the subject of numerous controversies and discrepancies regarding its nature and the consequences it had on the communities that received this right. The aim of this work is to clarify the various questions surrounding the granting of this privilege. To achieve this, a study of the historical background preceding the introduction of Latin rights in Hispania will be conducted, followed by an analysis of the main characteristics and effects that its granting had on the Peninsula. In summary, starting from the few references that appear in municipal laws about the Latini and the existing doctrinal positions, an examination of the possible existence or non-existence of ciuitas latina will be carried out. All this is done with the intention of providing a perspective that is not only historical but also legal on the discussed issues.

Summary
The Early Middle Ages (8th-10th AD) was a complex period in the politics of the Iberian Peninsula. In the Northwest there was the territorial expansion of the area dominated by the Christian kings of Asturias-León. In this area and chronology, the process of feudalisation begins to dominate the distribution of power, marking the differences between the social classes. The written documentation is biased by the elites, so archaeology becomes the perfect methodology for understanding other realities. Among the archaeological materials that can provide information on the way of life (health, illness and diet) of a given population are the skeletal remains of the individuals themselves. In the present work, an osteoarchaeological study and a palaeodietary analysis using stable isotopes of carbon (d13C) and nitrogen (d15N) of the human skeletal remains recovered from the Early Medieval necropolis of San Vicente de Trigás, Mondoñedo, excavated between 2013 and 2023, are carried out. They would constitute a Minimum Number of Individuals (NMI) of 3 individuals, two adult males and one non-adult. In one of the adult individuals, a set of potentially pathological anomalies were observed, especially in the lower quadrant of the body, which, through a Differential Diagnosis (DD), seem to be associated with equestrian practice. On the other hand, the isotopic analyses seem to point to a diet with low animal protein consumption which, when compared with others in the literature, would fit in with a rural population, not belonging to any social elite.

Summary
In the present work we have tried to approach the study of cranial trepanations. Seven skulls, most of them belonging to the Bronze Age, from the island of Menorca, were chosen for the research. All of them have been studied following a methodology based on a macroscopic bone analysis, followed by a microscopic study, which allowed us to analyse, among other aspects, the mechanisms and tools used during the trepanation, the possible causes that motivated the intervention and the survival that followed the intervention. In addition to this, a modernist experimentation was also carried out, which contributed to a better characterisation of archaeological trepanations. The aim is to learn more about this practice, which was common in the past and whose intentionality, cultural or medical, generates debate.

Summary
This project aims to study the phenomenon of engraved rock art in the open air from an ethno-archaeological perspective that integrates both the material and immaterial dimensions of these groups. The importance of this project lies in the study of monuments that are static in space, but dynamically reinterpreted over centuries and societies through the creation of cultural and symbolic landscapes. This approach to study which has had limited development in archaeological research on the Iberian Peninsula, is based on two foundations: the importance of the symbolic layer in the formation of cultural landscape and the capacity of oral tradition as a socialising agent of archaeological heritage. Thus, the present study is understood as a historiographical review to expose the history of rock art research in Galicia, from an anthropological perspective, as well as to approach the current state of this field of knowledge. Finally, based on a documentary analysis centred on the territorial scope of the Tea valleys, a research proposal is made for the archaeological area of Gargamala (Mondariz, Pontevedra), and the contributions of this approach to the study, socialisation and protection of rock art.
Summary
The present work proposes a study of the Castro de Elviña with an approach focused on the relationship between the architecture of the fort, its cultic expressions and the surrounding landscape. The Castro de Elviña (A Coruña) is identified as an oppidum of the Iron Age with a remarkable monumentality in relation to its surroundings, as well as an unusual presence of buildings of a collective and/or cultic nature. In this sense, a study is proposed that, from analysis methodologies typical of cultural astronomy, analyzes how the fort and its constructions are related to the landscape, trying to explore different connections between architecture, its functionality and its environment.

Summary
Ribeira Sacra presents great study potential for agricultural archaeology, among other reasons because its exploitation requires the construction of terrace systems, many of which have been maintained for centuries. This work presents a diachronic study of the agricultural landscape of a small nucleous of Ribeira Sacra, San Martiño, likelly with a monastic past, through which we seek to understand the historical course of its community, document its abandonment process, and develop an archaeological methodology that allows us to approach the Galician countryside. For this, field work is carried out, visiting the place and collecting oral witnesses, added to a consultation of historical archives, current and historical cadastres, aerial photographs and Lídar data. The results give us back the historical sequence of a population that disappears at the present time after around a thousand years of inhabiting the place, with its rise possibly in the 18th century and its decline starting in the second half of the 20th century, linked to the arrival of mechanization to the field. This work provides a small case study to the discipline, and a superficial methodological experimentation in which we can point to the challenges of agrarian archeology in the Galician territory.

Summary
Galician portable art has been little studied by researchers. We found several finds, mostly concentrated around Lugo, ranging from pendants to decorated bone industry elements, such as the case of some assegaies. This work provides knowledge about the different pieces found in the northwest of Iberia and, more specifically, in the case of Cova Eirós. This is the site with the most complete sequence for the study of the Mid-dle and Upper Palaeolithic in this region. Despite being known for its prehistoric rec-ord, Cova Eirós presents different levels of occupation, with an important ceramic as-semblage from the medieval period standing out. Among the materials under study, we found pendants, assegaies, needles, a punch and what has been interpreted as a button. All the objects are classified as bone industry, as they were made from animal materials (bones and teeth). The methodology employed consisted, on the one hand of a bibliographical research and, on the other, of a micro-scopic analysis of the pieces. The materials provide a great source of historical-archaeological documentation. For their interpretation and study, comparisons have been made both with sites on the Ibe-rian Peninsula (Las Caldas, Altamira and El Juyo) and with other European sites (Sungir, Volgelherd and Pavlov).

Summary
This final master project has the objective of showing a first look at how is being a woman in ancient Greece, in order to achieve this purpose, we will also take into account the goddesses, giving special attention to the similarities and differences between the divinities and the human women. This way, we can approach right into the reality of the human women who lived during the Classical period in Athens and Sparta and their goddesses, without forgetting the Nymphs being in between both groups. As methodology, we will be using primary fonts as Odyssey and Iliad from Homer and the Homeric Hymns, furthermore, iconographic fonts as attic vases. As well, we will be using as secondary fonts as Diosas, rameras, esposas y esclavas from Sara B. Pomeroy (1999), and ¿Qué es una diosa? from Nicole Loraux localized in Historia de las mujeres en Occidente, Georfe Duby (dir.), Michelle Perrot (dir.), Marco Aurelio Galmarini Rodríguez (trad.) Vol. 1, (1991) pages 29 / 72, and also Alguien se acordará de nosotras, from Marina Picazo Gurina (2008), that will be important for solving the problematic with studying Hellenic women.

The main purpose of this research stands to address the question of the role of peri-urban agriculture within metropolitan planning. Try to understand the role of agricultural spaces on the metropolitan scale, in which they play a potentially important role in achieving food security in cities. For this reason, through the review of three European experiences in metropolitan territorial planning such as those of Barcelona, Île-de-France and Copenhagen, through an extensive bibliographic review and own cartographic development, the contents of these planning figures will be reviewed, analysed and subsequently exposed, always focusing on the figure of agrarian spaces.

Summary
This document is a proposal for the creation of measures for the planting of native hardwoods in the plots belonging to the network of secondary belts of Galicia, based on the Plan of prevention and defense against forest fires through the planting of deciduous hardwoods, of the Municipality of Ames. This work shows the positive aspects of a law that would replace the continuous clearing of these strips by the planting of deciduous trees. The benefits of this action would be several, among which stand out the increase of public safety against fires, the reduction of expenses, the increase of biodiversity or the recovery of traditional uses.

Summary
The circumstances after the coup perpetrated on july 1936 derived on the establishment of the antifranchoist guerrilla. PCE is often pointed as the main driver and backer of this opposition movement against the franchoist regime, forgetting the part other social groups of big importance represented. On this paper we intend to analize the relevance of this civil collaboration with guerrilla and the reasons behind this collaboration. We’ll take Ordes’ region as a reference, where guerrilla kept specially active and managed to establish an important link network. Through the comparison of the civil support during guerrilla’s heyday and its subsequent fall we’ll achieve our goals. This way we’ll manage to prove, on one side, that society didn’t stay quiet after the new regime established in power and, on the other side, that society actually became a significant support for the antifranchoist guerrilla.

In the 1960s and 1970s, various peasant union organizations appeared in the Galician countryside, which were of great relevance in channeling the social conflictivity that occurred in rural areas during this period, as well as in the dissemination and extension of new ideas and political practices in galician rural society. The objective of this work is to analyze the process of emergence and consolidation of these organizations in relation to the two fundamental factors for their interpretation, the socioeconomic context in which they developed and the social conflictivity in which they participated. As well as its relationship with the aforementioned process of introduction of new ideas and practices among the peasantry.

Through this booklet, we try to address the origins of the current Popular Party, which, as is well known, are found in the party presented in society by Manuel Fraga Iribarne, together with other ministers of the Franquist Regime or on October 21, 1976. the personal trajectory of the leader of an eminently personalist party such as the Popular Alliance, attending to the two organizational groups that participate: GODSA, FEDISA, and Democratic Reform; I attached to the constitution of the Federation of Popular Alliance Parties. We will also analyze the discursive trajectory of fraguism from Centrist theory, Fraga's own proposal in 1972, passing through the idea of political reform without rupture and finally to the strategy of agreeing on a political organization a silent majority of sociological law, that he wanted to preserve some aspects of the previous Regime, which the founders of AP considered positive for the future of Spain. We will not leave aside during our analysis of the progression two small groups and parties that give rise to UCD, some of them with a close origin or from their own AP. Or our analysis will end with the formal constitution of the Federation of Popular Alliance Parties, after the elections on June 15, 1977.

The Museum of Cuenca has its origins in the archaeological remains of the Roman cities of Segóbriga, Ercávica and Valeria, collected in the 1950s. It was officially created as a provincial institution in 1963 by the Directorate General of Fine Arts, under the auspices of a Board of Trustees with the local administrations. In 1974 it moved to its current location, where it was installed in accordance with the innovative museographic trends of the time. Since then it has undergone different vicissitudes, however, it is awaiting a major remodelling and renovation.

Summary
This paper aims to examine the role played by public authorities in promoting urban resilience in the city of Praia, capital of Cape Verde, which has experienced accelerated population and urban growth in recent decades. Cape Verde's geographic location exposes the country to a variety of environmental risks and vulnerabilities, in part due to its arid climate and erratic rainfall. More than half of the urban expansion of the city of Praia occurred informally, resulting in areas with inadequate infrastructure and precarious housing conditions. The city's urban development is marked by plateaus crossed by valleys, where planned neighborhoods are located on the plateaus, while informal settlements are found on the outskirts, often in areas of environmental risk. The population in these neighborhoods is mostly low-income and has limited adaptive capacity. Based on a review of the literature on building resilient cities, as well as an analysis of the laws, plans and projects that guided and orient the expansion of the city, this study seeks to determine whether these instruments comply with the principles of urban resilience. Although the laws and urban plans in force in the city of Praia are aligned with the concept of resilient city. The current reality of the city, given the way it is growing, presents challenges that distance it from this ideal, as do some of the interventions carried out.

Summary
This master's thesis addresses the complex issue of water-related litigation in the Metropolitan Area of Querétaro, Mexico, where the growing demand for water has intensified conflicts among various social, economic, and political actors. Through Bruno Latour's actor network theory, the dynamics of interaction between these actors are examined, with the aim of understanding the crucial role of water in urban life and the tensions generated by the approval of the Law Regulating the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewerage, and Sanitation Services. The research also focuses on the legislative history of water in Mexico and the hydrological evolution of Querétaro, providing a detailed analysis of existing water diagnostic studies in the region, highlighting the need for comprehensive strategies that consider the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of water. The creation of hybrid forums is proposed, acting as spaces for dialogue and negotiation, allowing the participation of diverse groups in the search for consensual solutions. This study not only enriches academic knowledge on water management but also offers practical recommendations for decision-makers, emphasizing the urgency of implementing mechanisms that ensure equitable and sustainable access to water in the region.
Summary
This master's thesis examines whether strategic territorial planning could be a viable alternative for the development of Bogotá. Given Bogotá's importance as a national capital and its influence on the region, the study investigates how strategic planning can address the city's complex urban and regional challenges. The research assesses existing urban planning frameworks, including ordinance plans, development plans and strategic plans of key entities. By analysing a number of variables associated with strategic planning in the city context, the work seeks to provide a comprehensive assessment of its potential benefits and limitations for enhancing urban development and integrating the region more effectively. The findings suggest that while strategic territorial planning offers significant benefits, its effectiveness will depend on the integration and willingness of local actors and factors to create a coherent and adaptive development framework for the city.

Summary
This project presents a method of biogeographic analysis in the Laguna de San Pedro de Muro, based on the inventory and evaluation of its vegetation landscape. The method used is called LANBIOEVA (Landscape Biogeographic Evaluation) (Lozano et al., 2022), and has been regularly applied in various ecosystems on a global scale (Brazil, Chile, Scandinavia, Balkans, Iberian Peninsula, etc...) but has not been used in coastal wetland systems. The aim of this work is to use this LANBIOEVA tool to analyse, diagnose and evaluate a series of natural and cultural values of the San Pedro de Muro Lagoon. The results of the sum of the values obtained show that there are differences between the environmental units analysed. The results have made it possible to establish a proposal for the management and planning of the area in order to conserve the vegetation landscape of the lagoon with a high community value. From all this, it can be concluded that the methodology used in this project is effective and simple, which can be useful for territorial agents in the planning and management of natural spaces and environmental resources at the service of social welfare at different geographical scales.

Summary
The identification of the wildland-urban interface has been proposed as a necessity in local planning, given that urbanized areas represent a source of danger and vulnerability due to forest fires, even more when their expansion has not been planned, they do not have the provision of basic services or have settled in areas with other uses such as agriculture or forestry. For this first approximation and identification of the urban-forest interface in Quito, cartography and web information available to apply the methodology proposed by Lampin-Maillet et al. (2010), which evaluates the density of housing from the National Institute of Statistics and Census and using the average of threat in a radius of influence of 100 meters. The results obtained are framed within 14 types of forest-urban interface, given that there are no polygons with a classification of (Threat 4, densely clustered) and (Threat 4, very densely clustered). 64.05% of the territory has a (Threat 1, Isolated) typology. The central part of the city has a Threat 1 classification. As it approaches the urban Parks, its threat level increases to (Threat 3, Isolated) values due to the surrounding sidewalks and edges. Identifying urban-forest interface typologies in the city of Quito is necessary for local planning and the corresponding adherence to current regulations, so that the expansion of the urban area is in areas of low natural and anthropic risk.

Summary
This work aims to identify the invasive exotic plants present in the eight Protected Natural Areas declared up to now under the figure of Natural Monument (MN) in Galicia. In order to achieve this objective, a review of the previously existing information on this subject was carried out both in legal documents of community, state and autonomous application, as well as in the specific bibliography on this subject. The information obtained was complemented by obtaining new data through field work, identifying a total of 53 different Invasive Alien Species (IES) in the eight analyzed MNs. In most of the MNs studied there is a greater number of invasive alien species than established in the legal documents related to their management. The combination of the methodologies used and the carrying out of a geospatial analysis made it possible to verify an important presence of these species in protected habitats according to DC 92/43/EEC, particularly in those belonging to the groups of Dry thickets (Nat2000 4030), Cliffs with coastal vegetation Atlantic and Baltic (Nat2000 1230) and Siliceous rocks with pioneer vegetation of Sedo-Scleranthion or Sedo albi-Veronicion dillenii (Nat2000 8230). These results are used to propose management measures consistent with the problem addressed and the environmental importance of the types of habitats present in each analyzed protected natural space.

Summary
The intention of this work is to provide a critical and proactive view on the conception and approach to such a particular facility as public toilets in urban planning and management. To this end, I will take the city of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain) as a case study. This research seeks to investigate the role of public toilets in the life of the city from a perspective that encompasses the right to the city and feminist urbanism, with an intersectional approach. I thus aim to understand the perception of a multiplicity of urban agents (citizens, visitors, private entities), as well as the government itself, on a set of practices related to the provision and maintenance of this infrastructure in the city. Thus, this paper analyses the design, territorial distribution, access and scope exclusions, tensions and problems of public toilets in Santiago, as well as proposals for changes.

Summary
Mobility’s reality in the capital of Galicia is complexing more and more every day and key changes are necessary to deal with the fight against climate change. One of the main problems Santiago de Compostela suffers from the most is in the existing mobilities within its urban area, which are not properly addressed through the current public metropolitan transport services offered by the Galician autonomous government (Xunta), and which fall on excessive mobility in private vehicles on high-capacity roads. In this project, an analysis of the current situation facing this urban area, the third largest agglomeration in Galicia, will be developed, and different models will be promoted as a proposal to improve the existing public transport services in the area, considering it as a whole and promoting the creation of an institution for the organization of its urban services. We will also think about how to maintain and improve connections to the nearest municipalities, which would continue under the current metropolitan model. This project will consider current demands on the mobility and accessibility of people, so in addition to the improvement of public transport services and the promotion of intermodality between transport models, revisions and actions will also be included on road infrastructure and the existing pedestrian and cycling itineraries for its improvement and better connection with the newly proposed public transport models and with the urban area in mind.

Summary
This work proposes a sustainable management for the forest area of Santa Maria de Figueiras, in Santiago de Compostela, addressing the problem of eucalyptus expansion and agricultural abandonment. Through a historical-cartographic analysis and vegetation inventories, the impact of these changes on river systems and local landscape was evaluated. The results show that the proliferation of eucalyptus has contributed to environmental degradation and landscape homogenization. However, it is suggested that proper forest management, including reforestation with native species and more controlled planning, could significantly improve the situation. In addition, the importance of involving private owners in sustainable practices through economic and social incentives is highlighted. The study concludes that a comprehensive approach, which includes both environmental conservation and socio-economic development, is key to ensuring the long-term sustainability of this territory, Proposing strategies that could be replicated in other regions with similar challenges.

The tourist activity of skiing and snow sports is one of the main economic attractions of the Serra da Queixa area. In the winter months, thousands of people go to enjoy the mountain's ski slopes. However, this activity only takes place during the winter months, leaving the area inactive for much of the year. Furthermore, in recent years, global warming is causing an environmental impact, reducing snowfall days, and opting for anthropogenic solutions that are not very compatible with the environment. In this work the objective is to study the economic viability of the ski resort and snow activities and provide other uses compatible with the environment.

Summary
This study analyzes the dynamics of dunes, vegetation cover, and the influence of anthropogenic interventions on the Soesto beach. The main objective is to determine how natural conditions and the absence of significant infrastructure have allowed for a more stable dune evolution compared to other intervened areas, such as Laxe. Through evolutionary mapping and vegetation cover data analysis, the need to implement management strategies based on conservation and renaturalization to ensure the sustainability of the dune system is evaluated.

Summary
The increase in urban traffic has exacerbated road management problems in cities. Therefore, it is essential to conduct detailed studies of urban intersections to improve both mobility and sustainability. This study proposes to investigate the operation of the Cruce dos Choróns, a key intersection in the center of Vigo, where Travesía de Vigo, Calle del Pino, Calle Urzáiz, and Calle de Pizarro converge. The analysis is based on data collected during 10 consecutive days of measurements, processed using the microscopic traffic simulation software AIMSUN. With the help of this software, traffic management alternatives are evaluated, providing precise information on each option. Additionally, an emphasis on urban sustainability is incorporated, suggesting the creation of green spaces and the implementation of measures to reduce CO2 emissions. The study also includes a socio-economic analysis to identify the most efficient and sustainable solution, aiming to improve the quality of life in Vigo through traffic optimization and the promotion of a greener and healthier environment.
Summary
This study investigates the role of women in the struggle for amnesty in Brazil and Spain. Using a qualitative methodology and a transnational, non-androcentric perspective, it documents the historical participation of women in social and political movements, highlighting their strategies and contributions. The motivations behind their activism are analyzed, exploring the intersections between peace, amnesty and femininity. By comparing the experiences in the two countries, similarities, differences and mutual influences between the movements are identified. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating a gender approach into historical narratives of amnesty, highlighting the significant but often underestimated role of women. The results show that women's participation placed them in a historical bubble, where amnesty suited the women's struggle both in the logic of affections and in the political logic. However, this participation was often made invisible in the historical records. We have identified an emptying of the popular participation agenda in the Amnesty Law process and highlight the need to strengthen historical approaches to gender in order to gain a deeper understanding of these dynamics.
