Es recomendable que el/la estudiante posea las siguientes características personales y académicas:

1.- El alumnado de primer curso por primera vez a tiempo completo tienen que matricular 60 créditos. Un 15% del alumnado podrá cursar estudios a tiempo parcial (30 créditos).

La Universidad de Santiago cuenta con un servicio de participación e integración universitaria (SEPIU) (http://www.usc.es/gl/servizos/sepiu) que trabaja en la integración de personas con discapacidad y presta apoyo para el desarrollo de las adaptaciones curriculares, así como un protocolo para la integración en la comunidad universitaria.
La USC realiza todos los años, a comienzo de curso, jornadas de acogida organizadas por el vicerrectorado con competencia en asuntos estudiantiles que tienen por objeto presentar a los nuevos estudiantes las posiblidades, recursos y servicios que les ofrece la Universidad.
La Facultad de Psicología, por su parte, organiza en una jornada de acogida a los nuevos estudiantes el primer día de clase. En ella se ofrece una presentación de la Facultad, de su equipo gestor, la biblioteca, los servicios administrativos y la organización académica del centro.
A los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso en primer curso se les ofrece la posibilidad de incorporarse a un programa de tutorías personalizadas, en el cual se les asigna un tutor que los orientará a lo largo de la carrera.

El plan de tutoría implica (1) la firma de un compromiso de seguimiento de las tutorías y de las actividades académicas por parte del estudiante y del profesor; (2) un seguimiento dirigido por el profesor/a durante el primer curso, con un mínimo de dos sesiones por cuatrimestre; (3) un seguimiento, a partir del segundo curso, “a demanda” del/a estudiante en caso de aquéllos con buen ajuste académico, y de tutorización más directiva en los casos de fracaso académico.

La USC tiene un programa de alumnos tutores para las titulaciones de grao, de forma que alumnos de últimos cursos, despues de una formación que les facilita la Universidad, realizan tareas de orientación a los alumnos que inician los estudios.

Cuando se produzca la suspensión de un Título oficial, la USC garantiza el adecuado desarrollo efectivo de las enseñanzas que hubieran iniciado sus estudiantes hasta su finalización. Para ello, el Consejo de Gobierno aprueba los criterios relacionados, entre otros, con:
• La admisión de matrículas de nuevo ingreso en la titulación.
• La supresión gradual de la impartición de la docencia.
• Si el título extinguido es sustituido por otro similar (modificando la naturaleza del título), fija las condiciones que facilitan a los/las estudiantes la continuidad de estudios en el nuevo título y las equivalencias entre las materias de uno y otro plan.

Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to students with the following degrees/ diplomas or studies, or any other recognized as equivalent to these:
A.1. Spanish Bachiller, European Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate.
A.2. Baccalaureate from European Union Member States’ education systems or other countries withinternational agreements.
A.3. Advanced Technician in Vocational Training, Advanced Technician in Plastic Arts and Design orAdvanced Technician in Sports Education, from the Spanish Education System.
A.4.Studies carried out in European Union Member States or in other countries with international reciprocal agreements which meet the academic requirements in those States to access their university study programmes.
A.5. Official Spanish university degrees of Diplomado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico, Licenciado, Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Graduado or Máster Universitario.
A.6. Partial (foreign or Spanish) university studies.
Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is also possible for:
B.1. People over twenty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
B.2. People over forty with work or professional experience related to a university field of knowledge.
B.3. People over forty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
Likewise, access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to:
C.1. People meeting the requirements to enter university according to the Spanish Education System regulations prior to Ley Orgánica 8/2013, of December 9.

The Faculty of Psychology has 11 general purpose classrooms, 8 classrooms for work in small groups with capacity between 20 and 30 students, and also several labs and two computer rooms for teaching.

The Library of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Science has more than 120 reading stations and direct access to the collection.

1. The general objective of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology by the University of Santiago de Compostela is to train, at a basic and unspecialized level, psychologists with the scientific knowledge required to understand, interpret, analyse and explain human behaviour, and with the basic skills and abilities required to assess and intervene in individual and social areas throughtout the life span, to promote and improve health and life quality. 2. This degree provides the basic professional competences required to be a psychologist, except those reserved to other regulated professions.

Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados, incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio;

Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio;

Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética;

Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado;

Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

Knowledge and understanding of:
• Functions, characteristics, contributions and limitations of theoretical models in Psychology.
• Basic laws of psychological processes.
• Processes and stages of development throughout the life span, both in its normal and abnormal aspects.
• The biological bases of human behaviour and psychological functions.
• The psychosocial principles involved in the behaviour of individuals and in the functioning of groups and organizations.
• The research methods and designs as well as the data analysis techniques in Psychology.
• The methods of psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment in different applied fields of Psychology - clinical and health, social and educational.
Ability to:
• Identify recipients' needs and demands in different fields of application and establish the goals of psychological intervention.
• Identify the relevant characteristics of the behaviour of individuals, groups, organizations and contexts by using the methods, techniques and instruments of psychological assesment.
• Promote health and quality of life in individuals, groups, communities and organizations using methods specific to the profession in several contexts: educational, clinical and health, work and organizational, group and community.
• Select and apply appropriate and specific psychological techniques and instruments.
• Set goals and lay out plans and techniques of intervention according to recipients' needs and demands, and to assess intervention results.
• Communicate assessment results to recipients in a proper and accurate way.
• Elaborate psychological reports targeting recipients and other professionals.
• Comply with the deontological obligatons of Psychology

Estas competencias básicas y generales, se concretan en las siguientes competencias específicas:
CE1 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de las funciones, características, contribuciones y limitaciones de los distintos modelos teóricos de la Psicología.
CE2 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de las leyes básicas de los distintos procesos psicológicos
CE3 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de los procesos y etapas principales del desarrollo psicológico a lo largo del ciclo vital en sus aspectos de normalidad y anormalidad.
CE4 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de los fundamentos biológicos de la conducta humana y de las funciones psicológicas.
CE5 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de los principios psicosociales que intervienen en el comportamiento de los individuos y en el funcionamiento de los grupos y de las organizaciones.
CE6 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de los métodos y diseños de investigación y las técnicas de análisis de datos propios de la Psicología
CE7 - Demostrar conocimientos y comprensión de los distintos métodos de evaluación, diagnóstico y tratamiento psicológico en diferentes ámbitos aplicados de la Psicología (clínico y de la salud, social, educativo)
CE8 - Saber identificar las necesidades y demandas de los destinatarios en los diferentes campos de aplicación y establecer las metas de actuación psicológica
CE9 - Saber identificar las características relevantes del comportamiento de los individuos, grupos, organizaciones y contextos mediantes los métodos, técnicas e instrumentos propios de la evaluación psicológica
CE10 - Saber promover la salud y la calidad de vida, a través de los métodos propios de la profesión, en los individuos, grupos, comunidades y organizaciones en los distintos ámbitos y contextos: educativo, clínico e da saúde, do traballo e as organizacións, grupal e comunitaria
CE11 - Saber seleccionar y administrar técnicas e instrumentos propios y específicos de la Psicología
CE12 - Saber definir los objetivos, elaborar el plan y las técnicas de intervención en función de las necesidades y demandas de los destinatarios, y evaluar los resultados obtenidos
CE13 - Saber transmitir a los destinatarios, de forma adecuada y precisa, los resultados de la evaluación
CE14 - Saber elaborar informes psicológicos en distintos ámbitos de actuación, dirigidos a los destinatarios y a otros profesionales
CE15 - Saber ajustarse a las obligaciones deontológicas de la Psicología

Además de estos conocimientos y habilidades, la formación de grado en Psicología supone la adquisición de una serie de competencias transversales. Así, en el nivel de Grado en Psicología se deberán desarrollar las siguientes capacidades:

•CT2 - Capacidad de resolución de problemas y toma de decisiones.
• CT3 - Capacidad de trabajo en equipo y colaboración con otros profesionales.

• CT6 - Capacidad de desarrollo y mantenimiento actualizado de las competencias, destrezas y conocimientos propios de la profesión.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa):

Engloba las prácticas externas, y se programa en el último cuatrimestre, con el objetivo de que, una vez adquirida una formación académica suficiente, los/as estudiantes entren en contacto con la práctica psicológica y, guiados por profesionales, tomen contacto con el ejercicio profesional de la Psicología. En el marco de esta materia, los estudiantes recibirán formación relativa al Código Deontológico del psicólogo

De acuerdo con los objetivos establecidos para esta materia, de carácter obligatorio los estudantes de Grado deberán realizar y presentar un trabajo en el que demuestren las competencias adquiridas a lo largo de los cuatro años de estudios; la Facultad hará cada curso una oferta de trabajos/tutores. El trabajo podrá desarrollar, entre otras opciones, en relación con la actividad realizada en el Prácticum
