A historia constitúe unha boa escola para a análise de problemas sociais a pequena e gran escala. A formación de historiador capacita en moitos países para un amplo elenco de tarefas públicas e privadas e forma especialistas na xestión de organizacións e proxectos complexos, ao dotar aos individuos dunha capacidade analítica e heurística que outros estudos máis especializados non son capaces de transmitir.

En todas las sedes la persona responsable del Máster asesora al alumnado a lo largo de todo el periodo formativo. A ello se añade el director de su TFM que también realiza una labor de acompañamiento al alumnado.

Por otra parte, a todo el alumnado del Máster de todas las universidades participantes se les suministra una dirección de correo electrónico corporativo. Se trata de la dirección corporativa de la UAB (@autonoma.cat) que es imprescindible para utilizar el Campus Virtual de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona que ha sido el empleado en las dos asignaturas conjuntas de todo el Máster, la Enseñanza en Red y el Ciclo de Conferencias.

En la USC, unos días antes del inicio del período lectivo se realiza un acto de recepción a los nuevos estudiantes en el que se les da la bienvenida y se presenta el equipo de Coordinación de Máster (el/la Coordinador/a y el/la Secretario/a del Máster) y los profesores/as con docencia en el título. En ese acto se comentan diversos aspectos sobre el desarrollo del Máster y se cierra con un turno de preguntas. Por medio del correo electrónico y del aula virtual de coordinación del Máster, se hace llegar a los/las estudiantes matriculados la “Guía del Estudiante del Máster Interuniversitario de Historia Contemporánea.

Tras esta reunión de acogida tiene lugar la conferencia inaugural del Máster. Siguiendo un sistema de rotación, el/la conferenciante es elegido cada año a propuesta de uno de los Grupos de Investigación de la sede de la USC cuyos docentes lo sean también de la titulación

Poderán acceder ás ensinanzas oficiais de máster:

1. As persoas que estean en posesión dun título universitario oficial español.
2. Aquelas que teñan un título expedido por unha institucion de educación superior do EEES que faculta no país expedidor do título para o acceso a ensinanzas de máster.
3. Os titulados conforme a sistemas educativos alleos ao EEES sen necesidade de homologación dos seus títulos, previa comprobación pola Universidade de que os ditos títulos acreditan un nivel de formación equivalente aos correspondentes títulos universitarios españois e que facultan no país expedidor do título para o acceso a ensinanzas de posgrao.

If they do not have any of these qualifications, the USC will give them a level test and, if they do not pass it, they will have to attend an intensive course of Galician or Spanish in the first semester until they reach the required level.

El Trabajo fin de máster constituye el módulo final, con 15 ECTS. Consiste en la realización de un trabajo de inicio a la investigación dirigido por un profesor o profesora del programa o por otro profesorado de las universidades que ofertan el máster, previa aprobación por la Comisión Académica interuniversitaria, sobre un tema de Historia Contemporánea, que se presentará por escrito y se defenderá ante un tribunal mediante exposición oral.

Es una parte fundamental del plan de estudios con una carga de trabajo equivalente a la dedicación de un 25% del máster. Todo el proceso formativo del Máster está en relación con un proyecto personal que se plasmará en la memoria final. El alumno, tutelado por un director, deberá aplicar en su propia memoria de investigación las habilidades y competencias adquiridas en el resto de los módulos del Máster.
