Start the student in research on topics related to Food Safety and Technology. The final master's project will complement the acquisition of the necessary skills to obtain the Master's degree.

Integrative or synthesis exercise that allows applying the skills acquired in the subjects of the degree. It will carry out the realization, presentation and individual defense before a university court of a project in the field of nutrition, food safety and food technology in which the skills acquired in the teachings of the Master are synthesized and integrated. The final master's work can be carried out in any of the lines of research offered by the professors of the Master, related to the aforementioned fields. The specific work topic will be assigned by the academic commission of the master to each student, taking into account the lines of research offered, the preferences expressed by the students and the availability of teachers.
To determine the provenance or viability of a subject to be developed as TFM, the student must submit a proposal following a standardized form before the TFM monitoring committee for the degree. Once approval of the proposal has been obtained, the TFM may be prepared and presented for its defense. They will depend on the type of project carried out by the student and its content.
BASIC AND GENERAL
CG1 - Know the relationship between food, nutrition and consumer health in different vital situations and / or
psychological, necessary for the development of the various functions of a professional oriented to the improvement of food health and safety.
CG4 - Know the methods and technologies of production and packaging that allow obtaining safer, healthier and more ecological food, as well as knowing its repercussion on the global quality of food.

SPECIFIC
CE11 - Know how to perform, present and defend individually before a university court an integrative or synthetic exercise that allows applying the skills acquired in the subjects of the degree.
The TFM consists of carrying out an integrative or synthesis exercise that allows applying the skills acquired in the subjects of the degree.
Fundamentally, it is a personal work module of the student, which also includes hours of personalized tutoring with the TFM teacher-tutor.
For the realization and exposition of the TFM, the teaching methodology to support the student that will be used will be that of individual tutorials, in order to meet the specific needs of each master's thesis, which must be an original and individual exercise.
The use of the virtual USC platform will streamline the two-way flow of information between student and teacher, giving agility to teaching the subject, and facilitating access to documentation by the student.
In accordance with the “Regulation of enrollment, preparation and defense of the final degree and master's degree projects of the University of Santiago de Compostela”, approved by the Government Council on March 10, 2016, it will include, as a minimum, tasks bibliographic search and review, reading and integration of information, preparation of relevant information, writing and presentation and defense.
The final master's projects must have a tutor who will assist in the direction of the student. Co-sponsors may also be appointed with previously determined functions. The methodology of the work will be set by the tutor and co-mentors of the Work, depending on the type of TFM that the student is going to do. Once the work is finished, the student must make a report, which must be submitted to the corresponding court.
Both the procedure and the evaluation criteria linked to the achievement of the competencies are described in the Master's Final Project Regulations and its Annexes.

In cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the “Regulations for evaluating student academic performance and reviewing grades will apply.
The training activity comprises 12 ECTS credits, distributed as follows:
Individual tutoring: 18 contact hours and 42 hours of student work.
Final Master's Project: 220 hours of student work.
Presentation and defense TFM: 1 hour in person and 19 hours of student work.
Total: 300 hours of which 19 are face-to-face.
